Today would have been Mr Rivard's 100th birthday. He was a man who had a deep love nature and farming. Over the years, he grew a number of different crops, winter squash, strawberries and his well known high bush blueberries. Always learning and trying need ideas. We are grateful for all that he cultivated here on Rivard Farm. Love you dad. ❤️

It's another lovely day on the farm to celebrate Maine's Open Farm Day and the Springvale Farm Walk

Blueberries are plentiful and there are still a few raspberries if you're willing to search for them.

The activities of the Springvale Farm Walk!
Hike, bike, walk your dog or drive between the different farms!
Take tours at Sky Island Homestead Springvale to learn about native pollinators, Sanford Community Garden to see the garden and their new ADA raised beds, and Ferment Farm to learn about their greenhouses and orchard.
Bring the kids for games and ice cream at Sanford Community Garden and to learn about their Kids Can Grow program!
Pick berries at Rivard Farm and Blueberry Bend
Join Bill Grabin from York County Audubon for a Bird Walk at 8am Sunday morning at Pick Your own at McDougal Orchards and use the Merlin bird app to identify birds along the entire farm walk route! Don't forget to pick up a bird ID card from each stop along the walk!
