Juniors in the Vet Science program made 3D models of the circulatory and respiratory system of different species! They found objects around the classroom and lab to use for their projects. They had the chance to show off their work to peers and explain what they learned in this unit! 🫁🐶

Today, our Vet Science students had an amazing opportunity to tour MedVet Emergency Vet and Specialty Care in Worthington, Ohio! 🐾 During their visit, students explored a variety of specialties and witnessed advanced veterinary technology in action, including the linear accelerator used for specialized radiation treatments for cancer. They also observed CT scans and MRIs being performed and interpreted in real time. Such an incredible hands-on learning experience! In addition to the clinical tour, students gained valuable tips on resume building and interview etiquette to help prepare them for their future careers. A big thank you to the MedVet team for hosting us and providing such a meaningful and educational experience! 🐶🐱

Our Vet Science students got hands on with parasitology today. 🐾🧪 They used an edible lab with various pudding to practice describing color, consistency, and shape. Spaghetti stood in for roundworms and rice for tapeworms. (yes, it was as fun and gross as it sounds 😄)
To bring it all together, students also did real f***l analysis on our program animals, building skills they’ll use in the field and learning why zoonotic parasites matter in preventive care.
Definitely a messy, memorable day of learning! 🐶🪱

Last week, Vet Science juniors and seniors had the opportunity to tour The Ohio State University’s Meat Lab. We got to see the entire facility as well as gain an understanding on the processes that take place in the lab. A huge thank you to Cambell Warrington, a 2022 graduate of the program, and all employees who helped with the tour! 🐮🐐🐷

A very important part of animal husbandry is providing daily enrichment for our animals. 🐾
Enrichment supports their physical health, mental stimulation, and overall well-being — and it’s a responsibility we take seriously. From interactive activities to environmental variety, each day is designed with their needs in mind.
It’s also one of the most rewarding parts of our program. Our students love getting involved, and our animals thrive from the engagement and care they receive.
Hands-on learning that benefits both students and animals — that’s what it’s all about.💕

This week, senior Vet Science students have been learning about the skeletal system. In class, they recreated a dog’s skeletal system out of mini pretzel sticks! 🐶🩻
