🐾 Training doesn’t have to be tricky (get it?)! While we associate learning manners with puppies, any age is a good age to learn something new.
Training also can help with anxiety and it’s a great way to engage and bond with your pup!

😼Hi. It’s me. Your cat. I have heard that the dogs are trying to better themselves this year with some resolutions. Well, I can beat that! I will resolve to:

1. Knock fewer things off the counter. (No promises.)
2. Tolerate the dog…on Tuesdays.
3. Sharpen claws only on the scratching post. (In theory.)
4. Drink more water—maybe from an actual bowl.
5. Graciously allow you to believe you are in charge.

What did we miss? Drop your pet’s 2026 resolution below 👇

Is ‘living my best life’ at the top of your pet’s 2026 resolution list? 🐶🐱

One of the biggest factors in feeling good—moving easier, playing longer, staying comfortable—is a healthy weight. And you’re not alone if this is something you’re working on with your pet: more than half of dogs and cats are overweight.
The good news? Small changes can make a big difference!

Let’s kick off the New Year helping our pets feel their best—inside and out.
What’s one healthy habit you’re focusing on this year for your pet? 👇

🗒️Hi. It’s me. Your dog. I’ve been thinking about how I can be the bestest version of myself in 2026. This year I resolve to:
1. Not bark at the mail carrier…every single day.
2. Share the couch (but not the blanket).
3. Let you sleep in…at least once a month
4. Try to be brave for my next nail trim.
5. Stop pretending I don’t hear “bath time.”

What would your pet’s New Year’s resolution be? 🐶🐱

Hi, I'm Dr. Rouse, an associate veterinarian here at Grant Pet Hospital, and I want to personally welcome you to explore the opportunity to join our team! I've been here at Grant for 12 years and have enjoyed the collabarative team, commitment to excellent medicine, and strong relationships, with clients and colleagues alike. As a clinic we focus on preventive medicine, dentistry, surgery, and urgent care services. We also work with local hospitals and emergency facilities to ensure our patients receive the most comprehensive care possible. If you're a veterinarian who enjoys working in a positive, team-driven environment -and you're committed to quality medicine with compassion- I think you'll feel right at home with our Grant family. Looking forward to meeting you and learning more about your journey in veterinary medicine!
All the best,
Dr. Tom Rouse & Rosie

Welcome to the team Emily! Emily is originally from Cabot, AR but moved to Springfield for undergrad at MSU and is currently in the MNAS master’s program (graduating spring 2026). She is also actively working on getting into vet school and pursuing exotic medicine and surgery. Outside of the clinic, she’s constantly chasing stray cats in her apartment parking lot (with 1 success), going for a coffee run, or working on a craft project. She’s currently apart of the MSU community band and plays Clarinet! She can't wait to meet you and your pets! ❤️
