Feel Good Fri-YAY!

Meet Nelly, a 13 week old American Bully puppy in Springfield. Her hooman reached out to us when Nelly developed some kind of skin irritation on her back. Thanks to our amazing Krusaders, Kane's arranged a vet visit with our furrends at Holyoke Animal Hospital this week. We sponsored $144.56 for an exam, medications and a rabies vaccination. Nelly's hooman contributed $50. She will go back for a recheck on Monday, but her skin is already improving.

In other great Feel Good Fri-YAY news, Kane's will be sponsoring a spay appointment with our furrends at the Dakin spay/neuter clinic in early January. Nelly will also be chipped and receive a pawdicure. We love it when we can start these little ones off to a healthy life!

Sponsor Grace for the Howlidays!

Look at that face! Grace is an eleven year old diabetic poodle. Her hooman is disabled and lives on a very tight budget. Grace's condition requires prescription food, insulin and medical supplies. Kane's is assisting with the cost of her meds and supplies while her hooman covers the costly prescription food. The monthly cost is just over $37. We are looking for a few monthly donors - this is a new pet family and Grace currently has no sponsors. Will you be her first?

We're giving BIG PAWS UP to our furrends at 's Place, Inc. for their recent large donation of dog toys! This is an extra special treat for Kane's dogs! We'll give them out with January C.A.R.E. Kits.

Thank you to Therese and Betsy for being so thoughtful (pictured here with Daisy) and hat's off for the amazing work they do providing grief support for children who have lost parents and their families! We look forward to seeing how we can work together in the future. Together, we all accomplish so much more!

Feel Good Fri-YAY!

Did you know, when you support Kane's Krusade, you are literally helping us keep pet families off the streets and out of the cold? This week one of our Krusaders saw a man panhandling with his dog. Maria reached out to us asking if we could do anything. Thanks to her, she connected us with this pet family and a few days later, we arranged for a week's stay at a local hotel.

Charles and Dinah are living in their car with their dog Maz. When we gave them the good news about the hotel room, they were so grateful and surprised. Charles said, "We haven't slept in a bed since November 17th." Think about that for a moment and let that sink in. We all have so much to be grateful for and together we can share that gratitude with people who are struggling.

We've already got a vet appointment scheduled for Maz which we will sponsoring. We are looking for donations to help extend their hotel stay in this bitter cold weather. Even a few dollars helps. Thank you for helping us keep loved dogs with their furever families. Link in comments.

We're giving BIG PAWS UP to our furrends at Tractor Supply Co. in Ware for donating dog food for our C.A.R.E. Kits. We're especially grateful for the store manager, Kelly, who has always been a great supporter of Kane's. Thanks also to our newest Krew member Jake for picking up and transporting the food and to Family Krew member Carl for helping us to inventory and organize these donations in preparation for packing our C.A.R.E. Kits for January delivery.

Lucy Loo is one of our special needs dogs looking for sponsors. She was rescued by her hooman Kathy. Lucy had been adopted and returned twice due to no fault of her own. Kathy adopted her and took the time to learn about blind dogs and is one of the most dedicated dog moms we know.

Lucy lost her eyes from an infection she got while being abandoned on the side of a highway in the south. She has had a challenging beginning, but now is living the life of love and leisure! We're giving big PAWS UP to our furrend Kate, Tolland MA animal control officer, for transporting a large dog food donation from Tractor Supply Co. Great Barrington. We received 1,200 lbs of dry food. This will help us restock our bins and get ready for C.A.R.E. Kit deliveries in January. Thanks also to new Krew member Jake for assisting with pickup and unloading!
