Pet sitting. It isn't just about going to someone's house and letting their dogs p*e and making sure they have food and water. Someone has entrusted you with one of their most precious loved ones, dont underestimate that. Dogs aren't things to be locked in cages and left forgotten for 10,12,14 hrs. They aren't meant to wait for you to be done sleeping in or going out to dinner before you provide them care. They aren't meant to sit around finding things to destroy bc you assured the client you'd be there for an hour visit and then left after 15 minutes bc you were done with basic care. I strive to be the pet sitter I want for my furry loved ones when I go away. I have sacrificed sleep and timely meals and other self care to ensure good care for the animals I have taken on. You see, I get it from the client side. I have been betrayed by pet sitters. Lied to, caught them on camera allowing a child to chase and then hit my chicken with a shovel! Allowing a stranger into my home without any permission, forgetting to lock doors, failing to fill water troughs or bowls. I want to spend time with animals so that I know they're happy and all their needs are met, not just the basics. I want to make sure your pets have fun and don't stress about you being gone as much as I possibly can. I work hard to keep a dog's routine as much the same as I can, even if they come to stay at our farm rather than getting to stay home. I know how important it is for our peace of mind to know that all of their needs are met, not just the basics at a very minimal level. I understand that no one likes to be lied to or taken advantage of. This is not just a paycheck to me or a side job to make ends meet. I love animals and caring for them. I treat every animal I meet with the same love and level of care my own animals get. I recognize, though, that not every pet sitter is capable of the same level of care I give.
