What are we looking at under the microscope? HOOKWORMS! 🔬🪱

This patient had quite a few unwanted guests hiding where you can't see them! 👀

Hookworms are intestinal parasites that can infect both dogs and cats. They attach to the intestinal lining and feed on blood, which can lead to diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and other health problems.

That's why routine f***l testing is so important! A small stool sample can help us detect intestinal parasites and get your pet started on the appropriate treatment.

And here's another reason prevention matters: hookworms can also infect people.

Keeping your pet on year-round parasite prevention and having routine f***l exams performed helps protect your pet AND your family. 🐾💜

🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing Licensed Veterinary Technician, Addison!

Addie has been working in veterinary medicine for 6 years and has been part of the Modern Vet family for a little over a year. Since joining our team, she has made a lasting impact with her compassion, knowledge, and dedication to every patient she cares for.

When she's not at the clinic, Addie enjoys spending time with her husband and her furry (and not-so-furry) family, which includes two dogs and one very lucky pig!

🎉 Happy Birthday to Sarah!

Sarah joined the Modern Vet family about two years ago for her very first job in veterinary medicine, and it has been so rewarding to watch her grow. She started as our groomer's assistant, spent time as both a technician and receptionist, and is now training to become a groomer!

Outside of caring for pets, Sarah recently welcomed a beautiful baby into the world. She also happens to be our unofficial handyman. If something needs fixing, chances are Sarah can figure it out! No matter the task, she's always willing to jump in, lend a helping hand, and work hard without ever complaining.

We are so thankful to have Sarah as part of our team and couldn't imagine Modern Vet without her. We hope your birthday is as wonderful as you are! 🎂💜
