⭐️ Adventures with Lyra ⭐️
Yesterday was a big day! I got the go ahead to bring Lyra with me to work as we were having a vet day for a couple horses. She has been needing her float done to really check that broken tooth and make sure there was nothing goofy going on back in the back of her mouth. ⭐️
She hauled in great, dealt with the new experienced great, and had her vitals all done like a really great citizen! Sedation was no problem and for as big as she is, didn’t take any extra medication. Overall her mouth looked pretty great! She did have wolf teeth but my vet commented how they were perfectly placed unlike most horses, whose wolf teeth migrate and that’s where they begin to interfere with the bit. We decided to remove them anyway, just for everyone’s benefit. With that we updated her tetanus shot and now she’s two teeth lighter. ⭐️
She got to meet new people, mini horses and play with all the weird extra stuff we have at Jasper for our horses there like our giant ball. She wasn’t totally sold on the ball, but also wasn’t really bothered by it and it hung out with her in her outside pen all day. ⭐️
She was really a stellar girl for everything and confidently I’d say now we have no more stranger danger 😂 She also had no issues being completely surrounded by people meeting her and loving on her. When everything was said and done at the end of my work day she hopped right back into the trailer to head home. I decided not to work her much, other than the little tiny bit of lunging and trail stuff I did at work, just to give her a break after a mentally busy day and the vet work. ⭐️
⭐️ I can’t believe our time is almost over, I’m starting to really feel it and be a little sad about it. This mare is so awesome, and I just keep my fingers crossed she finds the most perfect person for her at the sale. This is someone’s heart horse. ⭐️
