Oklahoma! This is a great thing!
We’re so excited to share the logo for our Cherokee Nation Pet Partners Program! 🐶🐱 This fall, you may see this special logo being used by pet care non-profits across the region for their pet vaccination drives and we’re proud to show our support for the important public health work they’re doing in our communities!
Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner announced this program this spring as part of our tribe’s larger public health agenda. Pet Partners is providing $75,000 in grants to pet care non-profits in the region.
Pet Partners is funded by the Cherokee Nation Public Health and Wellness Fund Act, a landmark Hoskin/Warner Administration law that earmarks 10% of the tribe’s third-party health revenue to public health, behavioral health and physical wellness programs and services. Pet Partners, a pilot project, utilizes less than 1% of the entire PHWFA annual funding.
