Last week, we had the opportunity to meet with our Zomedica representative, Brandi, to test out some exciting new equipment that could be on the horizon for EAC, Inc.! 🐴

This innovative little machine has the potential to allow us to perform testing right in the field, providing faster results and helping us make quicker, more informed treatment decisions for our equine patients.

It is capable of testing eACTH, insulin, cortisol, and progesterone levels—all from the convenience of the field!

We’re always looking for ways to improve the care we provide and bring the latest technology to our patients. We’re excited to see where this technology could take us! 🩺🐎

We got to meet up with our Merck Animal Health rep, Amber, earlier this week and learn about some recent studies of an EPM treatment. It is always a pleasure to visit with Amber, as well as learn new things about great products!

☀️ Summer Heat is Here – Keep Your Horse Safe! 🐴💧

Hot weather can take a toll on your horse's health and performance. Help keep them feeling their best by taking a few extra precautions:

• Provide unlimited access to clean, fresh water.
• Offer shade whenever possible.
• Schedule riding or training during the cooler morning or evening hours.
• Allow frequent breaks and monitor for signs of overheating, such as excessive sweating, rapid breathing, weakness, or reluctance to move.
• Replace electrolytes as recommended for horses working in the heat.

Whether your horse is competing, working, or simply enjoying summer turnout, preventive care is key to keeping them healthy.
