Springdale Animal Services' mission is to provide shelter and care to the thous

ands of stray, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in need every year. We reunite lost pets with their owners, and place many that are homeless in caring, permanent homes. We strive to ensure the welfare and public safety of our community and its animals through education of our residents and enforcement of our ordinances. We appreciate the support of our community and always welcome new volunteers, foster families, and adoptive home. Additionally, if you represent a rescue or transport group, we would love to work with you!

Spooky came to us with a broken back right leg therefore he was a little bit spicy in the beginning hence the name. He went through surgery and wasn't able to keep the leg because it was badly damaged. Now he is back with us at the shelter very happy and sweet ready to find his forever home. Available for adoption NOW.

🐾🍼 OUR VERY FIRST KITTEN BOTTLE FEEDING CLASS — SUCCESS! 🍼🐾

We officially held our very first kitten bottle feeding class, and we couldn’t be more excited about how it went! 🥹❤️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who showed up, asked questions, practiced their skills, and—most importantly—was willing to learn how to help some of our tiniest and most vulnerable residents. 🐱🍼

Bottle babies require round-the-clock care, patience, dedication, and a whole lot of love. Having more people in our community who feel confident caring for neonate kittens means more tiny lives we can save. ❤️

We are so thankful for everyone who took the time to attend and for those who are willing to step outside their comfort zone to learn something new for the sake of an animal in need.

This is just the beginning! We hope to continue offering opportunities like this and grow our amazing foster community.

Thank you for showing up for the babies. 🐾💕

🐾🎸 PUPPIES BACKSTAGE?! You bet! 🎸🐾

When Best Friends reached out to us about a fun puppy socialization opportunity this weekend, we knew we had to jump at the chance! 🥹❤️

One of our wonderful animal caretakers got to take FOUR of our adoptable puppies backstage at the AMP to meet the crew and band members from Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner! 🤘🐶

Talk about a socialization experience these puppies won’t soon forget! They got to meet new people, experience a new environment, soak up LOTS of love, and—let’s be honest—probably made a few new fans along the way. 😉

Opportunities like this are so much more than just a fun outing. Every new person, place, sound, smell, and experience helps our puppies grow into confident, well-rounded dogs who are better prepared for their future families. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Best Friends for thinking of us and giving our babies this incredible opportunity, and to everyone who took the time to love on our puppies and make them feel like VIPs. 🐾✨

🐱🍼 WANT TO SAVE A TINY LIFE? COME LEARN HOW! 🍼🐱

We’re hosting a FREE Kitten Bottle Feeding Class at the shelter! ❤️

This year, we have taken in a HUGE number of newborn and neonate kittens — many of whom arrive without a mom. And while our staff will always do everything we can, there are only so many bottles we can hold and so many hours in the day. 😅

That’s where YOU come in.

We want to build a team of foster families who feel confident caring for these teeny-tiny babies when they need a helping hand.

At our class, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about caring for and bottle feeding orphaned newborn kittens, including:

🍼 How to properly prepare and administer formula
🐾 Proper feeding techniques and positioning
⏰ Understanding feeding schedules
🌡️ Keeping newborn kittens warm and safe
💩 Helping kittens with elimination
⚖️ Monitoring weight and recognizing healthy growth
🚨 Warning signs that mean a kitten needs veterinary attention
❤️ And all the little tricks that make caring for bottle babies a little easier

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to be an expert. You just need a willingness to learn and a heart big enough to help a tiny kitten.

The class is FREE and is open to anyone interested in becoming a kitten foster.

Because sometimes, the difference between a newborn kitten making it and not making it is simply having someone willing to get up every few hours and say…

“Okay, little one. It’s bottle time.” 🍼❤️
