We strive to ensure the welfare and public safety of our community and its animals through education of our residents and enforcement of our ordinances. We appreciate the support of our community and always welcome new volunteers, foster families, and adoptive home. Something big is happening in Northwest Arkansas!
We're proud to be one of 13 shelters and rescues launching The NWA Spay + Neuter Access Project, a shared mobile spay/neuter program from the NWA Animal Alliance. Instead of each of us tackling pet overpopulation alone, we pooled our resources to create something none of us could build by ourselves.
This clinic brings low-cost spay/neuter surgeries ($0 to $25) directly into the rural and urban communities that need them most, removing the high cost, distance, and wait-time barriers that keep families from getting their pets fixed. First clinics open to the public in late August!
Every surgery prevents future litters, eases the load on our animal welfare community as a whole, and helps a family keep the pet they love. ❤️

🐾 Meet Bert 🐾

At 11 years old, Bert has already been through more than his fair share of challenges.

Recently, Animal Control was alerted to a senior dog wandering in the street, bumping into cars and clearly in need of help. That dog was Bert. When he arrived at our shelter, our team quickly discovered that he was non-visual and suffering from severe eye disease, including a painful ulcerated eye.

Because of the incredible support of our community and the generosity of our donors, Bert is getting the medical care he desperately needs. This Friday, he will undergo bilateral enucleation (removal of both eyes) to relieve the pain caused by severe glaucoma, as well as be neutered.

While losing his eyes may sound heartbreaking, Bert has already lost his vision. This surgery will give him something even more important: comfort, relief, and the chance to enjoy his golden years without chronic pain.

After his procedures, Bert will be transferred to our amazing rescue partner, Taysia Blue Rescue, where he will continue his journey toward a brighter future.

Stories like Bert’s are only possible because of your support. Thank you for helping us provide lifesaving medical care to animals who need it most. ❤️

Meet Roscoe! At 7 years old, Roscoe is ready to leave his rough past behind and find a family who will love him for the rest of his days. This sweet boy has been through a lot, including severe skin issues that went untreated for a long time. He is healing beautifully, but he'll need an adopter who is committed to helping him continue his journey to healthy skin and keeping him feeling his best. Roscoe is a gentle soul who loves people and wants to be everyone's friend. Whether you're a stranger passing by or a longtime companion, he's always excited to stop and say hello. He's a polite leash walker, knows how to sit, and is highly motivated by treats. This lovable guy is happiest when he's included in whatever you're doing. He adores being pampered, loves attention, and will gladly soak up every bit of affection you have to offer. One of his favorite things is carrying stuffed animals around in his mouth, proudly showing off his treasured toys. Roscoe is also a world-class couch potato and certified house hippo. Give him a comfy spot to relax, and he'll happily spend quality time lounging by your side. Because Roscoe enjoys having all the attention to himself, he would do best as the only pet in the home. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart, a goofy side, and lots of love to give, Roscoe may be your perfect match.
