Hip hip purr-ay! Thank you!! On Giving Tuesday you came together to shelter the Commune cats from future emergencies by supporting the Emergency Medical Fund. The Shannon and Juried Families each generously offered to match the first $5,000 raised! Together you raised a paw-sitively incredible $2,443 dollars! The Juried and Shannon families generously contributed all the matching funds bringing our total to $12,443 for the Emergency Medical Fund.

Your compassion for the cats ensures emergencies are addressed quickly, minimizing their impact on the Commune and the cats. Aries - the boy who started it all - was no stranger to emergencies. Throughout his life he required multiple trips to the emergency vet and long days at the clinic for urinary blockages and infections, culminating in a surgery to widen his urethra. Lillih came to the commune in need of emergency surgery to amputate her back feet, and both Hiccup and Butterscotch Lollipop required amputations on account of paralysis related injuries.

Aries and the other Commune Cats tend to use all nine lives and a few extra too. The Emergency Medical Fund is a crucial tool in providing time sensitive care to save lives, and maintain quality of life for medically complex cats. Provide a path to adoption for cats in distress.

Because of you the Copper’s Cat Commune Emergency Medical Fund has provided intake exams for cats in need. Cats like Frosty, a hypothermic kitten, saved by quick decision-making on a cold winter night when you provided for her emergency care. In 2022 Frosty found her forever home. Tw***ie - deaf/blind, covered in parasites and mange, who you gave a chance to show off her beautiful Siamese coat and clever personality. She was adopted only a few months after her rescue in 2023. Paralyzed by chance during a routine spay Lillith lost her back feet, but thanks to you she had a safe recovery. Lilith was adopted in 2023.

Copper's Cat Commune is a nonprofit cat sanctuary dedicated to the lifetime care of a limited population of ill, disabled, or otherwise adoption challenged cats as well as the promotion of TNR programs and feline behavioral therapy. Aries is a special boy who won so many hearts as he fought for life in 2015 when he was just 6 weeks old. His indomitable spirit and unceasing joy quickly made him the front man...er...cat of the Commune. His life was on the line again in 2018 and the #AriesArmy was born.
