Healthy Petz Dog Training Dog Training Katie Zavaro is an honor graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences.

She has been a veterinary technician for the past 14 years. Katie has been training and showing dogs since 2004. Her experience has allowed her to be an approved American Kennel Club evaluator for the (AKC) Canine Good Citizen. Katie is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. As a member she has learned a variety of training methods which expand her behavioral and training experience. Kat

ie has also had the opportunity to work with a variety of dog breeds and personalities by volunteering her training skills with rescue groups. Katie's passion as a dog trainer is to teach people to properly train their dogs to be a welcomed part of the family. Behavioral problems are one of the main reasons dogs are surrendered to shelters. Proper training can save these types of dogs. Everyone likes a well trained dog, it's the only way to have a dog and truly enjoy them. Nicole Stiffler is our assistant dog trainer and has been with Healthy Petz as a veterinary assistant since 2019. Overall, she has been in the petcare world for almost 10 years and loves it! She has her certification in Dog Training and Behavior from Animal Behavior College and is an evaluator for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy class and the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC). She has shown her personal dogs in AKC conformation, obedience, and trick dog, earning titles in each. Her favorite part of training is watching puppies learn through play and helping you build everlasting bonds with your new found family members! She is currently teaching the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy and Puppy PreSchool classes.

Do you have an extra seat at the table this Thanksgiving—or maybe your holiday plans include cozying up at home with football and leftovers? No one likes to spend the holidays alone… including our shelter animals.

From November 26th–December 1st, our cats and dogs would love a little holiday break with a loving foster family. We’ll provide the food, toys, supplies, and all the know-how. You provide the time, love, and TLC. This also allows our animal care team an opportunity to spend more time with their families.

Every animal in our care is as unique as a snowflake. If your home is a great match, our foster coordinator will reach out! You will have a scheduled opportunity to meet the animals first to see if you would like to take them home. Have a resident dog? We’ll help schedule a meet-and-greet here at WCAC.
