We have a few new faces on the farm, so we wanted to introduce them individually!

✨Meet Jordy✨ She is our roping instructor and then also a fill-in instructor (like a substitute, for when our main gals are out of town or something comes up). We are so excited to have her as a part of our BWR team! 🖤🤍

From Jordy:

“I grew up competing in AQHA all-around events, where I developed a strong foundation in horsemanship, showmanship, pattern work, and the versatility required to excel across multiple disciplines. More recently, my focus has been on reining and roping, and I continue to actively train in both disciplines. This has further strengthened my understanding of riding, performance, and feel.

As an instructor, I enjoy sharing the knowledge I’ve gained over the years while helping riders build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and create lasting partnerships with their horses. I believe the best learning happens in a positive, encouraging environment where safety and good horsemanship are always the priority.”

🐴 PAID Internship Opportunity at Blackwater Ranch!
We're looking for a reliable, horse-savvy intern to assist with our homeschool equine program every Tuesday from 12:00–2:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in equine education, youth leadership, and ranch operations.

We're looking for someone who:
• Has previous horse handling experience
• Enjoys working with children
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills
• Is dependable, punctual, and professional
• Has a positive attitude and is eager to learn
• Can confidently help with horse safety and basic barn tasks
• Is comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather

Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with homeschool lessons and activities
• Helping students safely groom, tack, and handle horses
• Setting up and cleaning up before and after class
• Supporting instructors during lessons
• Helping create a fun, safe, and encouraging learning environment

Whether you're pursuing a career in the equine industry, education, agriculture, or simply want valuable experience, we'd love to hear from you!
