Even our sweetest, most loving pets can become frightened and unpredictable when they're hurt. This April, let's talk pet safety! Pain and fear can change their behavior, making it crucial to handle injured pets with extra care and caution. Keep both you and your furry friend safe by:

- Resist the urge to hug them (we know it's hard).
- Always keep your face away from their mouth.
- Don't try to move them alone - get help when possible.

Remember: An injured pet may not recognize their own family members when they're scared and in pain. Your safety matters too! Seek emergency vet care immediately if your pet is injured. 🐾

Job Opportunity: Kennel Technician at Great Basin Kennel

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Kennel Technician to join our team! This position offers 25-30 hours per week with a flexible schedule, though candidates must be willing to work 10-hour shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays. Pay will be dependent on experience (DOE).

As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of all animals at Great Basin Kennel. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Daily Animal Care: Providing food, fresh water, daily exercise, and enrichment to animals in our care.
Cleaning & Disinfection: Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, and common areas to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
Compassionate Attention: Offering love and affection to animals while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Team Collaboration: Working alongside a dedicated team to meet the needs of all animals.

This is a fast-paced and physically demanding role, requiring long hours on your feet. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about working with animals. We value individuals who are adaptable and can thrive in a dynamic, high-energy setting.

Great Basin Kennel participated in Clean Up Green Up Event by cleaning the roads and streets around the facility. We loaded the back of our pickup with trash. What a gorgeous day for some volunteer work! We saw lots of people out and about participating!
