To Our Friends and Customers,

Each of us at Shields Greenhouse want to express our deepest gratitude for your generous support to our family over the last month. Thanks to your kindness, we are back on track for the Spring season. New plastic has covered the greenhouse and it is again filled with tomatoes, cabbages, marigolds, petunias, herbs, and a whole spread of plants that are nearly ready for your gardens.

The fire that destroyed the central building of our longest hoophouse was a significant loss, but after a speedy cleanup and the installation of a new heater, we’re again focused on bringing all of you the flowers and vegetables you have come to know from our family business.

Your support has made an incredible impact during this difficult time. We are truly thankful for your compassion and cannot wait to see you all soon.

The first shipment of trees and shrubs are in! We've got a nice selection of ornamentals, including lilac, weeping cherry, flowering almond, dogwood, smoke bush, redbud, Japanese maple and golden chain tree.

Also a solid variety of fruit trees:
Apple, peach, plum, cherry and apricot

We faced a terrible fire last night that burned down the central building of our longest greenhouse. A lot of potted trays with plants young and old melted in either direction as well as a great deal of our winery supplies like empty wine bottles, tubing and pump. Cleanup has started and we're planning on fully recovering the space.

Due to the expense we expect, a fundraiser has been setup to help curb the costs. If you can donate, it's extremely appreciated. If you can come to the greenhouse this Spring and fill out your garden, it's also extremely appreciated. We plan to continue growing and providing plants for all our customers this year and beyond. Thank you for everything.
