Sometimes itโs ok to put your horse in different hands .
The stigma says if you sell your horse, have a trainer ride it, or just stop riding it then you have failed. But did you?
I donโt see it that way, but I used to. I am guilty of keeping horses simply because I thought no one else could ride them better or take care of them better. Which was all a silly story I decided to tell myself. But what Iโve learned is through almost all the horses Iโve sold, is that they become the #1 priority for their new owners and most of them still are. Thereโs no better feeling than getting pictures of them living their very best lives and being loved on a different level ๐
So, what do you do if you are struggling with your horse? See it through for awhile. Help your horse get through any health issues that it may have. Do what you can to make them comfortable, put in the time to be a balanced rider, and donโt just throw in the towel at the first sign of trouble.
But if you are not excited to go see or go ride your horse, then maybe itโs time to put them in different hands.
Think about what kind of horse will make you excited to go ride and hang out with them. Because I guarantee there is a horse that matches exactly what you want, but it doesnโt match its current owner.
So for the sake of the horse, sometimes itโs ok to put them in different hands. Donโt dwell in the fomo that you might get out run by that horse and its new rider down the road because that is also a super cool feeling when that happens!
Put them in hands that match them, whether that is your hands or someone elseโs and turn โfailureโ into growth ๐
