What does MOUD (Suboxone and Sublocade) appointments look like at CAT?

We keep it simple and surround you with a team of lived experience.

Walk in and let our receptionist know that you're there for a walk-in appointment. Next, you'll meet with a peer counselor that has walked this journey as well. They will introduce you to one of our doctors - they are supportive and respectful. You get a prescription the same day.

If you don't have insurance, our team can help you get connected with Medicaid. We will not turn you away if you don't have insurance. We're here because we've been where you are and know that this is a big step in your journey.

Please share this post to help others know about our MOUD clinic hours.

Leadership Update at CAT

We are excited to share several important leadership updates as CAT continues to grow and strengthen our impact!

Beginning September 1st, Sandy Munck began serving as our Interim Executive Director. Sandy has been a dedicated leader within CAT, bringing compassion, vision, and deep commitment to our mission.

We also warmly welcome:
• Joshua Leach, Director of Programs – bringing years of experience building and managing programs that create lasting change.
• Kearney Jordan, Finance & Grant Manager – bringing years of nonprofit experience and a strong commitment to sustainable growth.

Each of these leaders brings a heart for CAT’s mission and a dedication to the community we serve. Together, they will guide CAT into this next chapter with strength and purpose. 💜

🌟 What Recovery Looks Like When You’re Experiencing Homelessness 🌟

Recovery is never a straight line—and when you’re living without stable housing, the journey is even harder. Every day is shaped by survival: finding food, warmth, and safety. Underneath it all is the weight of trauma, making each step toward healing feel even heavier.

That’s why we believe in harm reduction. Recovery doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Sometimes, progress is choosing one healthier step today than yesterday. Sometimes, it’s walking through our doors after weeks—or months—of building the courage to try, or try again.

It often takes longer for people experiencing homelessness to move toward recovery because of the challenging circumestances they are in, but every step matters. Each moment of hope, no matter how small it seems, is a milestone.

💜 To everyone on this journey: you are not alone, and every step forward is worth celebrating.

August 31 is a day set aside to reflect on the impact of overdoses on our community and to raise awareness.

Over the past three months, our team has continued to prioritize community safety and care through consistent outreach. We have successfully distributed 1,325 doses of naloxone to individuals in our community. Each dose represents a life-saving opportunity, and these efforts reflect CAT’s commitment to reducing harm and creating pathways to hope.

We've all been impacted in some way by an overdose. Please join us in caring for our community. Carry Narcan. Get trained to use it (we can help with this). Even though you may not have loved ones who use drugs, you can save the loved one of someone else.

CAT is growing — and we’re looking for a compassionate ARNP to join our team as Medical Director in our low-barrier, walk-in MOUD clinic!

For the past six years, our clinic has provided life-saving care to people experiencing homelessness and substance use challenges — thanks to the dedication of volunteer doctors and nurse practitioners. Now, we’re ready to take the next step by welcoming a part-time prescribing provider to help expand access to Suboxone and Sublocade in our community.

This role is 20 hours/week, in a supportive and peer-led nonprofit setting. We wrap care in dignity — offering housing support, reentry navigation, recovery shelter beds, and outpatient treatment.

If you believe in harm reduction, healthcare access for all, and meeting people where they are — this could be the place for you.

Hi Community! This is a reminder that the Sobering Center, located at 124 E Short, operated through funding provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce, is closing on May 31, 2025. This service was created in connection to Camp Hope.

155 people who resided at Camp Hope received services at the Sobering Center, with an average stay length of 33 days. People received support accessing Medication Assisted Treatment, SUD assessments, navigation into treatment, and housing case management. People were welcome to stay until they had access to housing and folks were navigated from the Sobering Center directly into Catalyst, Transitional Housing, Rapid Rehousing, and Permanant Housing options.

For the past two months the Sobering Center has beened opened up to the community and provided services to an additional 54 people, with an average stay length of 10 days. All recovery supports and navigation were provided with folks exiting to enter treatment, appropriate shelter beds within the new Scatter Site shelter system, as well as housing options as available.

CAT's sobering center welcomed people with their pets, and welcomed couples (with seperate sleeping spaces), helping to overcome barriers that are in place in other sobering and detox centers. We transported people to court, treatment, medical and mental health appointments in order to support stabilization and movement towards individual goals.

It has been a priviledge to provide these critical services to our community. As we close up the Sobering Center, we're reflecting on so many positive journeys that began here and wish the best of success to each and every person that participated in this service.

Thank you to our community partners for your collaboration and mutual support of the people we have served. It takes all of us working together to support our community members experiencing homelessness. We celebrate the folks that have been with us who are now housed, and continue to cheer on and support the folks still seeking housing.

CAT continues to provide SUD Assessments, IOP/OP, the Recovery Options Center (Scatter Site Shelter - 20 beds), MAT, and Housing and Employment Case Management, as well as OAN IT (begin navigation to services while in the county jail) at our center located at 960 E 3rd Ave.
