🚨🚨🚨 Warning!!!🚨🚨🚨
It is sheetgrass, or foxtail, season and these things can get gnarly quick!!
Sheetgrass loves to get imbedded between toes and can poke through the webbing of the toes and move through your dogs body. This can lead to huge infections, abscesses and could cause them to need surgery.
We have been seeing quite a few abscesses this month, some we’ve been able to squeeze and release the foreign body, some we have to recommend vet care for.
Keep an eye out on your dog! And check between their toes, and their ears.
As always, regular grooming is important to minimize the risk of anything!
Pictured below is a sheetgrass we found between toes. We were able to squeeze this one out but you can see the infection already started.
