We did two unique beaks last week!
First up is Ging, she’s a green cheek who had a freak accident in her cage that caused her upper beak to break off. Her mom has no idea where or what in the cage caused the issue, but thankfully she has healed up immaculately! This is our first time trimming her beak, so we left the bottom beak a bit longer just to make sure she can still feed herself. We will adjust length as needed as we trim her more often!
Second we did Chewy, he’s also a green cheek but had a larger bird bite his beak through the cage and broke his bottom mandible in half. He went to the vet and got his first few trims done but we got the all clear for us to start doing them again. Thankfully his bottom beak seems to be keeping itself mostly in check, so we really just had to do a bit of a touch up on his top beak. This was our first time with him too, so we will adjust our trim as we see him in the future!
