It absolutely sickens me that breeders as a whole get a bad rap for the actions of ignorant and impulsive pet owners who lie and use us as their excuse when their bad decisions blow up in their faces. Here’s a wonderful example…
Back in October of 2024 I was contacted by one of my prior pet families and told that a friend of theirs, Hilary Pine, was interested in frenchie pups. I was urged to contact her and I did. I quickly learned she was interested in obtaining TWO puppies and rather than take this woman’s money I did the right thing and educated her on littermate syndrome and explained why it may be a bad idea. I suggested she space out her two new acquisitions for a better chance at success… or perhaps opt for different breeds to allow for a slight size difference to possibly help combat the chance of it occurring… spent hours of my time answering all of her questions and doing my best to disuade her against purchasing two same age/breed pups at the same time… and once we reached the point of talking about transportation and deposits for her future pups she basically vanished. Again, this was back in the end of last year.
Fast forward to present day and I’m alerted to a post by the same individual, Hilary Pine, who is actively complaining that she made a mistake by trusting a breeder who “convinced her to buy two puppies at once” while pretending that she was completely unaware of what littermate syndrome was… which is a blatant lie. This person was essentially refused what she wanted when speaking to me and basically continued her search until she found some sleezeball willing to take her money and give her exactly what she wanted…. and now exactly what she was warned would happen has begun. So she types up some wall of text which is essentially absolving herself while blaming the horrible breeder for HER actions. Her ignorance. Her impulsiveness. Her selfishness. She’s had the pups a week and she’s now looking to rehome them because it’s clearly too much for her. All of which could have been avoided had she heeded my warnings. Instead…. she searched for someone else who would tell her what she wanted to hear and sell her the two dogs she wanted from the start.
People like this absolutely disgust me. They’re one of the contributing reasons pups pile up in shelters…. and one of the many reasons breeders as a whole get a bad rap. Impulsive greedy people making bad decisions and then lying about what theyve done in order to lay the blame at the feet of the notorious “breeders” while those beating their drum about rescues pat them on the back and tell them what they’ve done is OK. Its not. It’s f—-king dispicable.
The breeder who sold her the dogs in this case ultimately ghosted her… and I’d expect nothing less from someone selling someone two same age pups at the same time without any caution… but the fact remains she knew full well about the risks… and chose to do it anyways. Now she’s pretending to be a victim and the true victims in this case are the poor nine week old puppies about to be displaced yet again.
I gave this individual the opportunity to correct their post and be honest, and rather than do so they decided to delete my comments and maintain their lie…. So now here we are. Setting the story straight and using her as a glowing example of what NOT to do.
Don’t be an impulsive self-centered $h!tbag…
Think of the pups and what you’ll be putting them through….

Below you will find screenshots of her recent post (absolute lies) as well as screenshots from when we spoke back in October of last year showing that not only was she the one searching for two pups and nobody “talked her into it”, but also the fact she was informed and educated about littermate syndrome and even made the comment then that she didn’t want to put pups through that. (But ultimately did anyways because she’s a selfish waste of the air we all breathe)
She not only knew, she did it anyways and instead of owning her actions and possibly helping others to mske the right choices moving forward…. shes decided to blame the “untrustworthy breeders” while talking about how great she is for having rescued in the past.
Sure…. Am I pi**ed I wasted all that time educating someone only to have them turn around and do what they wanted from the start? Of course. Should I have just taken her money and ran like the “greeder” she ultimately found? Perhaps…. but unfortunately I happen to enjoy the few hours of sleep I manage to get each night. It justst infuriates me that breeders constantly get bad raps for the actions of people like Hilary. It needs to stop. People need to become accountable for their actions instead of blaming the “big bad breeders” and pretending that they’re innocent. Sorry lady, you’re anything but. You’re the literal reason why perfectly good pups are flooding shelters all over this country.
This post will remain until Hilary decides to amend her post to tell the truth. The whole truth. Keep blaming others for your actions/ignorance and this will remain as an example and cautionary tale to all. Forever.
