There comes a time when something needs to be said. Sorry to air dirty laundry, but our disappointment is real.
The last six weeks have been some of the most difficult our family and K9 Designs have ever experienced. My mom received a devastating cancer diagnosis and, just two weeks later, she was gone. During that time, I was caring for her while she was on hospice, saying goodbye to my best friend, planning her funeral, and trying to find the strength to return to work while carrying an unimaginable amount of grief.
On the day of my returning, our shop lost air conditioning. For the health and safety of the dogs in our care, we had no choice but to rearrange appointments and make accommodations until it gets repaired.
None of these circumstances were planned. None were within our control.
To the overwhelming majority of our customersāthank you. Your patience, understanding, kind words, and prayers carried us through some incredibly dark days. We will never forget your compassion.
However, we have also been deeply disappointed by the reaction of a small number of people. Some expressed anger, impatience, or entitlement over appointment changes without taking a moment to consider what was happening behind the scenes.
We understand that your time is valuable, and we know schedule changes can be frustrating. But we also believe kindness and compassion should never be optional. Life can change in an instant, and one day any one of us may find ourselves hoping others will extend the same grace we need.
At K9 Designs, we have always treated your pets like family. We have continued to show up, even while grieving, because we love what we do and we take our commitment to your pets seriously.
Going forward, we ask for patience, understanding, and respect. We are human beings before we are groomers, and sometimes life brings challenges that no amount of planning can prevent.
To everyone who stood beside us during this incredibly difficult season, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support has reminded us why we love serving this community, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you.
