Last Wednesday I posted a picture of Pickles and the aftermath of a de-shed. Well, Today I did another de-shed on her because there was still a ton of hair coming off. It is spring!
People ask how long will a de-shed take? Today with Pickles this took me about an hour and I forced myself to stop due to fear of skin irritation with all the raking I was doing. So if it took me an hour on a coat this short, a bigger dog with longer hair will take some time. You cant rush this process. As for Pickles, she will probably get another bath, de-shed later this week until I can't get any more coat off. Then I will do her every month to stay on top of it, because dogs drop coat every 21 days.
The first picture is the amount of hair I got off before the bath, the second was after the bath and blow dry.

Briella finished her puppy course with us today. Oh, how cute is she.

Hope and I have been working extra hard trying to get everyone in in a timely matter, rearranging the schedules and moving people up when we can. With doing that it has opened up a few spots toward the end of April. We have 1 spot available on

Ok, this is going to be a rant, pass on by if you don't want to read it.

Attached is just a small portion of rules and regulations we must and do follow.

All grooming and boarding facilities in the state of Iowa have state regulations we MUST follow to be in operation. Yes! We at K9 Designs follows all state regulations!! All dogs must be current on vaccinations to walk through our door. NO EXCEPTIONS!! yes, your veterinarian can write a waiver stating the dog should not have the distemper combo or the kennel cough vaccines due to health reasons, and as long as we have that waiver written on veterinary letter head signed by your vet we can accept that. There is no waiver for rabies.

Yelling at us, cussing at us and calling us every name in the book will not get us to go against state regulations.

We are proud to follow regulations and not cut corners when it comes to working on and taking care of your precious pets. Safety and their well being is very important to us.
