A calf known to have experienced a prolonged calving and appears to be a "dummy calf" with a low VIGOR score, is likely suffering from respiratory acidosis.

It takes about 10 minutes to get all the juices flowing before we can ask our horses to do any work. This can be 10 minutes of walking beside our horses or riding at a nice, loose walk.
