These clinics typically fill quickly, especially spays. If you want to see how many spaces are left in a particular size/s*x/species slot you can start the process of booking an appointment using the following specs for an animal. It will populate any remaining spaces on any upcoming dates. If no returns come back for the Gallatin County location, that means all spaces meeting that criteria are booked.

· Male cat, 3 lbs (will return all available cat neuter spaces)
· Female cat, 3 lbs (will return all available cat spay spaces)

Once you post, you can expect to see some questions from the community. I'll try to cover the most common one's for you so you can just copy and paste answers, but please let me know if anything comes up that you don't know the answer to! If anyone else in your network is going to post on their FB (and they are more than welcome to), please share the info below with them as well. Let's also share with anyone who has access to/is likely to answer questions on your official FB.


· It's trying to charge me the full price instead of the deposit - I thought this was supposed to be free! (I guarantee this will be asked almost immediately)
o When you sign up, the standard price for the surgery will appear at the top of the screen. If you scroll down just a bit, you will see a blue box that outlines the deposit policy. The deposit for cats is $25. It will not charge any more than that during the sign-up process, and the deposit will be refunded back to your original form of payment when you show up for your appointment. You do not need to present a voucher as a Gallatin County resident.
· Can I sign up over the phone?
o To help keep costs low, the Kentucky Humane Society needs you to sign up online. They do not have the staff to man phones full time. Please ask a friend or family member for help if needed.
· Can I pay cash for the deposit?
o No, deposits must be paid by credit or with debit card.
· I don't see the Gallatin County dates, only Louisville dates. Is it full/is there a waiting list?
o There are limited spaces for each s*x. You can check back regularly and if there is a cancellation, a space will open back up again. KHS does not maintain a waiting list for appointments.
· I just booked but haven't received a confirmation email yet.
o KHS staff has to review each potential booking. You can expect your confirmation email within 1 business day of submission.
· I have multiple pets; do I have to make an appointment for each one?
o Yes, you can sign up for multiple pets. You must make an appointment and pay a deposit for each individual pet.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll keep you up to date on how we are filling. I expect this to sell out quickly (they generally book fully within a couple days) but we can find a way to boost the signal if needed.

WE NEED YOU GALLATIN COUNTY !!!
Our dogs are waiting....
Some days at the shelter are harder then others. As much as we love and care for every animal who comes through our doors, truth is .. we simply can't give them all the time, love, and interaction they so desperately crave. When you come into visit our pups you will see happy wagging tails that quickly slow as you pass them by. You will see eyes that follow you, hoping today is the day they get a few more minutes of attention. A walk, cuddle, or someone to just sit with them. They don't understand why they were left alone or why they are here. We are doing everything we can, but we can't do it alone.
Gallatin co we are asking for your help.
We need adopters ,fosters or volunteers to spend time with our dogs. They need more play time, walking and interaction with people to remind them that they matter. Even 30 min can change an entire day for a pup. For some it may be the only bright moment they have until tomorrow. I see people come and go and they all get so excited thinking today is the day, then the silence comes when they are left behind and they curl up in the corner feeling forgotten again...We need you all more then ever. If you are interested in Fostering or adopting or volunteering please help us help them... IF YOUR NEEDING A CAT SPAY /NEUTERED THERE ARE 20 SPOTS LEFT FOR THE CARE-A-VAN https://www.kyhumane.org/services/khs-care-a-van/ Click on link go to... schedule your appointment now,.... then select spay/neuter... then pick from male or female cat then below that it has a weight selection choose what you think your cat weights, then Gallatin county will pop up.
