🎄✨ Christmas Came Early at PetSmart! ✨🎄

Yesterday’s adoption event was filled with extra magic, happy tears, and wagging tails as Snow ❄️ and Joplyn 💕 both found their forever homes just in time for Christmas!

There is truly nothing sweeter than watching our rescue pups leave with their new families—especially during the holidays. These two lucky dogs won the best gift of all: a home, love, and a lifetime of cuddles. 🏡🐶💖

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows, to our amazing volunteers, and to PetSmart for hosting another wonderful adoption day. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

AN AMAZING SUCCESSFUL ADOPTION STORY: Just a little update on Boomer:

He is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

We had a lot of names picked out but the kids all called him Chonk and that just stuck. So his new name is Chonk.
Not one accident in the home or lifted leg and he figured out the dog door in 1 day.

He is Mr. Popularity at the office.

We took in my in-law's dog and they are getting along great as well as the cats.

He snuggles in the bed at night.

Goes for all the car rides we can take him on and is relaxed in the car.

There have been a couple times he was left at home for a few hours and not one reflection of anxiety.
He will bark but only when someone comes in the door and then he's all done.

He only needs to hear "no thank you" as a correction and responds perfectly.

He likes being picked up and likes his walks. He was only intimidated by the loud dogs on the walk the first time and now, he walks with confidence.

He loves it when the kids snuggle him.

We are working on commands like sit and he already has "stay" down. He doesn't bolt out of the door and follows closely and listens very well.

He's part of the morning wake up routine with the kiddos and has helped make that process much easier.

Basically, if I could have created the most perfect dog for myself, my family and even my office, it would be Chonk.

And a very special cheer for Ken, who found a loving “forever foster” home while he continues his medical care with CRTM. Sometimes the perfect match comes wrapped in a little extra TLC. 💕

Our hearts are full, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the amazing families who opened their homes (and hearts!) to these deserving pups. Thank you for making adoption day pure joy!
