A little investment that will make a big difference! 🍯

We finally invested in a honeycomb slicer to help us cut our honeycomb into neat, even pieces for storage and gifting.

Sometimes it's the small tools that make the biggest impact. This will help us package our honeycomb more efficiently while giving our customers a beautiful, ready-to-enjoy product.

Just one more item we can proudly add to the shelves at Jones Farm—straight from our hives to your home.

**How to Get FREE Blackberry Plants... for Life! 🌿🫐**

One of the best things about growing blackberries is that you usually only have to buy them once.

Every year, healthy blackberry plants send up new shoots—called suckers—from their root system. Those new canes can be carefully dug up and transplanted to another location, giving you brand-new blackberry plants for free.

You can also tip-root the ends of long canes. Simply bend the tip of a healthy cane to the ground, cover it with a little soil, and let nature do the rest. In a few weeks, it will grow roots and become a whole new plant that can be separated from the parent.

Before you know it, one blackberry bush can turn into an entire berry patch!

That's one of the best parts of homesteading—learning how to let your garden multiply itself instead of buying new plants every season.

About this weekend....

Just because the honey has been harvested, there is still work to be done in the Apiary.

This hive came from a spring swarm, so we didn't harvest any honey from it this season—and that's perfectly okay.

Right now, our focus isn't on what we can take from the hive. It's on making sure the bees have everything they need for the months ahead.

During this inspection, we're checking that the colony is healthy, the queen is doing her job, and that the bees have enough honey and pollen stored to carry them through the winter. A strong hive in the fall gives them the best chance of surviving until spring.

Every hive is different. Some produce extra honey to share, while others need a full season just to grow strong enough for winter. As beekeepers, part of our job is knowing the difference and always putting the health of the bees first.

Healthy bees today mean a thriving hive tomorrow. 🐝🍯❤️

The "Great" Potato Harvest 2026

Went out to harvest some bush beans and tomatoes and ended up knocking over the potato tower to see what our results are.

The verdict is in...we have taters! Not lot, but enough for a nice snack or small meal.

Trust the process!

Might have enough time to do it again, before the season is over.

A sweet little neighborly trade happened here at Jones Farm. 🌿🥚

We were gifted several new plant clippings to add to our garden, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect!

As a thank-you to our awesome neighbor, we dropped off a dozen fresh farm eggs. That's one of the things I love most about country living—neighbors helping neighbors and sharing what they have.

Every new plant, every fresh egg, and every act of kindness helps grow something bigger than a garden... it grows community. 💚
