❄️🚨 FREEZE ALERT: ROADWAYS ARE ICY! 🚨❄️

Brunswick County, the temperatures will begin to dip below freezing as the sun goes down, and you know what that means—those roads are turning into ice rinks! 🧊❌

Secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses are especially dangerous right now, and don’t forget about the sneaky culprit: black ice. It’s nearly invisible but oh-so-slippery, so it’s best not to take the risk.

Here’s your friendly reminder:
🚗 Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
🌉 Watch out for slick spots—bridges, overpasses, and shady areas freeze first!
❄️ Black ice is tricky—if you don’t see it, you can’t avoid it.

We know it’s tempting to venture out, but trust us: skating on actual ice is more fun than sliding on icy roads. Let’s keep everyone safe by staying warm and cozy at home.

Your safety matters—so grab a blanket, a cup of something warm, and enjoy another night off the roads. We’ve got your back out here! ❤️

Our rare winter weather is causing very dangerous driving conditions. We have made the decision to close tomorrow, and keep clients and staff home and safe. We will reopen Monday and be back to normal business hours.

01/22/2025

Brrrrr! It's cold out there! We hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
We will be closed Thursday January 23rd due to the roads and driving conditions for the safety of our clients and staff. We are following the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office closely on the roads.
We will continue to post updates regarding any changes in our hours as needed.

🌨️❄️ A Winter Wonderland… with a Side of Caution ❄️🌨️

The falling snow has been absolutely breathtaking, turning our community into a postcard-worthy scene. ✨ But as beautiful as it is, snow and ice can make roads slick and treacherous.

We’re urging everyone to:
🚗 Stay off the roads if you can. If you must travel, drive with extreme caution—slow and steady wins the race.
🏡 Stay home, stay warm, and stay safe. Now’s the perfect time to cozy up with a hot drink and enjoy the snow fall from the comfort of your window.
🎉 Enjoy this rare snow day! Build a snowman, take some photos, or just soak up the quiet beauty of this winter moment.

Your safety is our top priority, and we want everyone to make it through this winter wonderland without incident. Let’s all do our part to keep the roads clear and the vibes cozy. ❄️❤️

Stay safe, Brunswick County!

🚨 Winter Driving Survival Guide 🚨

Alright y’all, it looks like snow will be falling, black ice will be lurking, and we know as Southerners, our "driving in winter weather" skills are about as solid as butter on a hot day.

Here's how to keep yourself (and us) out of trouble:
1️⃣ Stay Home. Seriously. Put a binge-worthy show on Netflix and spend the day under a warm blanket with a hot cup of cocoa.
2️⃣Slow down—this isn’t NASCAR.
3️⃣No cruise control! This isn’t a Sunday drive to Grandma’s.
4️⃣Bridges = Icy Slip ‘N Slides. Proceed with caution or prepare to meet the ditch or worse!
5️⃣ Clear the Snow Off Your Car: Yes, all of it. That snow missile on your roof will come flying off and hit someone. Don’t be that guy.
6️⃣Black Ice: Looks wet, acts evil. Assume every shiny patch is a trap

If You Slide:
1️⃣Don’t panic.
2️⃣Don’t brake like you’re stomping out a fire. Steady and gentle wins the race.
3️⃣For rear-wheel slides, steer into it. For front-wheel slides, shift to neutral, slow down, and then gently steer.

If you get Stuck :
Don’t spin your wheels—you’re not digging for gold.
Shovel, sprinkle some kitty litter or sand, and rock it out (carefully!).

Remember, the safest way to avoid winter weather chaos is to stay off the roads. But if you must brave the elements, bring snacks and a warm blanket—just in case. And call us if you need us.

Stay safe, folks! ❄️🚔

Happy New Year! We have been so busy we got behind on the staff spotlight featuring our superhero staff members at Four Paws Animal Hospital!

This week features our very own wild child Kate Jones(aka hurricane katrina). Kate has been such an important part of Four Paws since 2020. She moved to Brunswick County in 2006 at the age of 5 from Durant, Oklahoma. She completed her vet assistant certification in 2018 and again started at Four Paws in 2020. We could not be more pleased with what she adds to the Four Paws team.

When not helping you and your pets as a vet assistant at Four Paws she is busy taking care of her family farm which includes 4 horses, 38 chickens, and 4 cats.

We are very proud of her and think you will be impressed as well if you get the chance to interact with her on your next visit!

Full disclaimer we may or may not have her air tagged when she attends concerts on the weekends. We love you hurricane Katrina.

We are devoted to improving the comfort and well-being of our patients with high quality of care and
