Well we are going to add this little group of kittens to our kitty rescue tomorrow from Animal Control of West Florida. Five little bottle babies about 3 to 4 weeks old. Thank you Robin Wade-Callaghan for squeezing this little family in with your crew.

Please help me thank Jenny Manning for taking over the transport this month while I am on vacation. This is a tremendous amount of work, please reach out to her if you can help in any way. We're also asking for donations for our kitty moving fund in order to make this happen. We thank every one of you that donates, shares, and just gives that word of encouragement. Thank you and together we do big things.

The last few days have been nothing short of a whirlwind. Honestly, there were moments I wasn't sure if I was coming, going, or just standing in the middle of the road holding a kitten and a vaccine cooler. ๐Ÿ˜น
But I finally have a few minutes to sit down, catch my breath, and give everyone an update.
On Wednesday, we welcomed two sweet orange kittens from Lowe's in Marianna. One has already decided humans are pretty awesome. The other is still working on his social skills, but he's making progress every single day.
Friday, we made a trip to Cottondale to vaccinate four kittens that will be coming into rescue at the end of this week. Tomorrow, we'll be vaccinating six more kittens near Deer Point Lake that are also waiting for their chance.
People sometimes ask why we vaccinate kittens before they even come into rescue.
The answer is simple: because vaccines save lives.
We try to get that first vaccine into them as soon as possible so they have an extra layer of protection against the viruses that seem to lurk around every corner. It gives them a better chance, and it helps us breathe a little easier knowing they have a layer of protection already when we do take them in. Vaccines are not a maybe. They're a must. And trust me, we go through them like candy around here.
As if things weren't busy enough, Monday we'll be pulling more cats and kittens from Animal Control of West Florida
Thanks to some amazing fosters saying "yes," we'll be bringing out one pregnant mama, a mama cat and her two kittens, and two sets of three kittens. We will be taking these kittens directly to the vet where they will be looked over, given any vaccines if old enough, any medicine they may need, and testing.
That's a lot of little lives being given a second chance. It's also a lot of extra mouths to feed, litter boxes to fill, vaccines to give, and vet care to provide.
And that's where we need your help.
If you'd like to help with the care of these kittens, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, every bag of food, every transport run, every foster home, every share, and every encouraging comment helps more than you know.
We may be a small rescue, but together we're doing some very big things.
Every kitten that gets a second chance is proof of that.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us make it happen. โค๏ธ

I hate making these posts.
And I know y'all probably hate reading them.
But the reality is the reality.
We need fosters. Desperately.
Not next week. Not next month. Right now.

Today we got a message from a very high-kill shelter. They are out of space. Completely out of space. And when high kill shelters run out of space, impossible decisions begin to happen. Those decisions aren't made because staff doesn't care. They happen because there are more animals than there are places for them to go.
That is the heartbreaking reality of kitten season in an area where too many cats remain unspayed and unneutered.
Right now our biggest challenge is getting kittens out of animal control before it's too late. There is one pregnant cat. There are four sets of two kittens. There are three single kittens. There is a mama cat with two babies. Along with them are several adult cats that need help too. Every one of them needs somewhere safe to go. And every one of them depends on someone stepping forward and saying, "I can help."
Kibbles N Kovers cannot save them by ourselves.
We cannot pull them from shelters or bad situations and promise them safety until someone opens a door.
We can provide the food, the litter, and the veterinary care.
Today there are lives hanging in the balance because there are simply not enough foster homes.
I wish I could say yes to every call.
I can't.
Not until you do.
If you've ever thought about fostering now is the time. Because somewhere a kitten's future depends on whether we have a place for them to land.
Please help us say "yes."

Some days rescue is exhausting, and then something special shows up right when you need it most.
Yesterday we received the sweetest a sweet little letter from a future rescuer named Mia. ๐Ÿ’œ I like to think of it as a letter of encouragement and a much-needed boost to keep us going.
Thank you, Mia, for your kindness and for reminding us why we do what we do. The future of animal rescue is in good hands. ๐Ÿพ

Placed with foster. Thank you Collandra
๐Ÿšจ I NEED HELP MORE THAN EVER ๐Ÿšจ
You guys know I don't like saying no when kittens are involved. Unfortunately, kittens don't seem to care whether I have room, fosters, money, or sanity left. ๐Ÿ˜…
Right now there's a mama cat and two 6-week-old kittens in Marianna that need help.
Mama is cautious and untrusting, but she is not feral. There is a difference. At the very least, she needs to be spayed and vaccinated so she never has to raise another litter outside. There are feeders where she lives, she's familiar with the area, and we will assess her further before deciding her long-term plan. Right now, TNR is looking like the most likely and safest option for her.
But those kittens...
Those babies are my concern.
One has already decided people aren't so bad. He'll let you pick him up, love on him, and is starting to enjoy the good life. The other is still convinced humans are suspicious creatures. He runs when you reach for him, but once he's caught, he doesn't hiss, bite, scratch, or growl. He just freezes and hopes the giant human disappears.
In rescue language, that's called "completely workable."
I truly believe both of these kittens are young enough to be socialized and adopted into loving homes.
The problem?
I need a foster before I can say yes.
๐Ÿพ We need a foster for two 6-week-old kittens. ๐Ÿพ We need someone willing to trap mama for TNR. ๐Ÿพ We will cover the TNR costs. ๐Ÿพ We will provide food, litter, and vet care for the kittens.
This is one of those moments where a single "yes" changes everything.
One foster saves two kittens. One trapper changes mama's future forever.
So who's willing to help me turn three uncertain futures into three success stories? โค๏ธ

After being sick for the last week, I finally started playing catch-up today. And let me tell you... rescue apparently saved up a week's worth of chaos just for me. ๐Ÿ˜น
First, a huge thank you to Robin Wade-Callaghan and Jeanette Lee Rathburn for bringing vaccines from Dothan and a kitten from Chipley this morning. Those little acts of kindness mean more than you know. You literally saved me hours of driving and allowed me to focus on everything waiting here at home. I am so grateful. โค๏ธ
One of today's highlights was a sweet little Chipley kitten finally graduating from quarantine and joining her foster family and new friends. She looked absolutely thrilled to trade quarantine life for kitten roommates. While quarantine isn't much fun, it's one of the most important things we do to keep all of our kittens healthy and safe.
I also burned through an entire flat of 24 vaccines today. Twenty-four! That's a whole lot of pokes and a whole lot of kittens getting one step closer to healthy, happy lives. They also received their NexGard because vaccines and parasite prevention aren't optional in rescue. Prevention is always easier than treatment.
The bad news? I still have another 24 vaccines to give before I leave for vacation Monday. ๐Ÿ˜…
Which brings me to a favor...
If you already know how to give vaccines, or would be willing to learn, please reach out. I'll be gone for part of June and we have kittens that will be due for vaccines while I'm away. It would be wonderful to have one or two volunteers who could visit foster homes and help keep our vaccine schedule on track.
Rescue is never boring. It's exhausting, chaotic, expensive, and sometimes feels like a full-contact sport.
But seeing a kitten leave quarantine and make new friends today? That's the kind of stuff that makes it all worth it. ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

We need help, Chipley. ๐Ÿ’”
For years, an elderly woman has faithfully cared for a couple of cat colonies in the Chipley area. She never asked for recognition. She never asked for praise. She simply made sure they were fed every single day.
What makes this even more remarkable is that she has done it all as an amputee.
Now life has become even harder. She is undergoing kidney dialysis five days a week, and her body is simply exhausted. Yet her biggest worry isn't herself... it's the cats.
She is in panic mode, terrified that the cats she has loved and cared for all these years will go hungry.
We're hoping that two or three compassionate people might be willing to step in and share the responsibility. The colonies are close together, so it would be a quick trip to feed and head back home. If several people help, no one person has to carry the entire burden.
Kibbles N Kovers will gladly donate a bag or two of food each month, and we'll also ask our wonderful Facebook family to help keep food available.
Please, if you live in or near Chipley and can help, even just a few days a week, reach out. These cats have depended on one incredible woman for years. Let's make sure she knows she doesn't have to carry this alone anymore. โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ

This sweet girl has one wish... a family of her own. โค๏ธ
When we pulled her from Animal Control of West Florida she was scared, confused, and keeping her distance. She's a little shy at first and may spend the first couple of days hiding out. But give her a little time, a little patience, and a little love, and she starts to bloom. By day four or five, she's usually asking for pets and showing off the sweet personality that's been hiding underneath.
A big surprise came when we learned she was already spayed. That means someone loved her once. Someone cared enough to have her vetted. Yet somehow she still found herself alone in Animal Control. ๐Ÿ’”
Then we discovered a small mass on her side. It was removed and sent to pathology, where it came back cancerous. The good news is it was caught early, completely removed, and her veterinarian believes she has a bright cancer free future ahead. ๐ŸŽ‰
This girl has beaten the odds. She lost her family, survived Animal Control, and overcame cancer.
Now all she needs is one thing: a couch to claim, a window to watch birds from, and a family who will never let her wonder where she belongs again. ๐Ÿฉท
The best news is her adoption fee has been paid. You will still have to fill out an application and be approved.
Please share. Her family may be just one share away. ๐Ÿพ sweet girl has one wish... a family of her
