Meet the shop dogs of Moore Equine!

Bram is an approx 5 year old Doberman adopted 4 years ago through Volunteer State Doberman Rescue. He is a very loving and happy boy. Although he finds his horse siblings concerning, he seems to truly like his tortoise sibling, Veronica. Bram loves all snacks and has trained several of our customers to provide some for him!

Meet the shop dogs of Moore Equine!

Reva is a 2 year old rough coat collie from our long time friends at Solutionsforanimals Rescue! Reva is a dedicated early riser and enjoys helping her mom (Kaily) and older sister (Roxanne) open the store every morning. When she's not busy being all of our emotional support collie she enjoys hiking, playing with her toys, herding cats, and keeping close tabs on her human.

She has been a dedicated shop dog for over a year now!

"What type of hay is the best?" We get asked this frequently — and different horses can benefit from different types depending on their age, workload, and nutritional needs. We thought we would put together a quick breakdown of some of the most common hay types in one central location:

🌱 Timothy Hay
A popular grass hay known for being lower in calories and protein while still providing great fiber. Timothy is often a great option for easy keepers, mature horses, or horses needing a more balanced maintenance diet.

🌾 Orchard Grass
Soft, leafy, and very palatable, orchard grass is another grass hay that tends to be slightly higher in calories than timothy. Many horses love the taste, making it a great option for picky eaters or horses needing a little extra encouragement to eat.

💚 Alfalfa
Alfalfa is a legume hay and is naturally higher in protein, calories, and calcium. It can be a great choice for growing horses, hard keepers, performance horses, or seniors needing extra nutritional support. Because it’s richer, it may not be the best fit for every horse.

We are incredibly picky about the hay we bring in. We admit that. We work closely with farms and growers we’ve built long-standing relationships with over the years to help ensure consistency, quality, and hay we feel confident feeding our own horses.
Every horse is different, and the “best” hay really depends on your horse’s individual needs, workload, and overall diet. That being said we’re hereto help you find the right fit! 😊

Anybody else feel that thick air this morning? If you haven't already it’s a good time to start thinking about electrolyte support for your horses

When horses sweat, they lose important minerals that help keep them hydrated and feeling their best. And this isn't only performance horses — even horses out enjoying turnout in the heat can lose electrolytes quickly as the days get hotter.

So, adding electrolytes during hot days, training, travel, or shows can help support hydration, recovery, muscle function, and overall comfort.

And of course always make sure your horse also has access to plenty of fresh water and free salt as temperatures climb
