Did you know that Shelties are one of the most intelligent dog breeds in the world? Originally bred to herd livestock on Scotland's Shetland Islands, these beautiful dogs are known for their loyalty, energy, and stunning double coats.

✨ Grooming a Sheltie ✨

Shelties have a thick double coat made up of a soft undercoat and a longer outer coat. Regular grooming is essential to keep their coat healthy and free of mats.

✔️ Thorough brushing 2–3 times per week
✔️ Routine baths and blowouts to remove loose undercoat
✔️ Extra attention behind the ears, around the collar area, and on the back legs where tangles often form
✔️ Nail trimming, ear cleaning, and sanitary maintenance

A common misconception is that shaving a Sheltie will help keep them cool. In reality, their double coat helps regulate body temperature and provides protection from both heat and cold.

With proper grooming and maintenance, a Sheltie's coat stays beautiful, healthy, and comfortable all year long! 💙

Do you have a Sheltie at home? Share a photo in the comments... we'd love to see them!

Did You Know? Not All Dog Coats Are the Same!

Most people think dogs just have "fur," but there are actually several different coat types, each with its own grooming and care needs.

✨ Smooth Coats – Short and sleek
✨ Double Coats – Thick undercoat with a protective outer layer
✨ Long Coats – Flowing hair that needs regular brushing
✨ Wire Coats – Coarse and rugged texture
✨ Curly Coats – Tight curls that can trap loose hair
✨ Corded Coats – Unique coats that form natural cords

Understanding your dog's coat type can help you choose the right grooming routine, reduce shedding, and keep your pup comfortable year-round.

Face trims aren't just about keeping your dog looking cute. They're an important part of their comfort, hygiene, and overall well-being!

Regular face trimming can👇

👀 Improve visibility by keeping hair out of the eyes
🦴 Prevent food and debris buildup around the mouth and beard
💧 Reduce moisture and staining around the eyes and face
🐾 Help prevent mats and tangles in sensitive facial areas
😊 Keep your pup comfortable and feeling their best

Breeds with continuously growing hair, such as Shih Tzu, Poodles, Miniature Schnauzers, and many doodle mixes, especially benefit from routine face trims.

A clear view, a clean face, and a comfortable pup... that's a win all around! ❤️✂️🐶

Meet Rex... the Bedlington Terrier 🐾

The Bedlington Terrier is a lovable, intelligent breed originally developed for hunting rats and other vermin. Today, they're known for their affectionate personalities, playful nature, and unique lamb-like appearance.

One of their most distinctive features is their signature breed-specific hairstyle... a soft, curly coat with a stylish snout that makes them instantly recognizable!

To keep their coat healthy and maintain their classic look, Bedlington Terriers should be professionally groomed every 6–8 weeks and brushed regularly at home.

We highly recommend the Bedlington Terrier as a family pet. Their loyal, friendly temperament and manageable size make them wonderful companions for many households. ❤️

If your dog could talk, what would be the most-used excuse after being naughty?

•The cat did it.
•I was protecting you.
•I thought it was food.
•No regrets.

You might be wondering what that fancy tool is...💬
It is called a Dremel.

A Dremel allows us to gently grind nails down little by little, creating a smooth finish while reducing the risk of cutting the quick. It's especially helpful for dogs with dark nails, sensitive paws, or overgrown nails.

Every dog is different, and we choose the method that works best for their individual needs.

❤️ Your dog's comfort is our top priority. Whether we use a Dremel, clippers, or both, our goal is always a safe, stress-free experience and healthy, happy paws.
