It’s really satisfying to have a horse that has gone through so much and have her work like she did today! She’s really starting to come through and not get so overwhelmed! Today we did this square exercise! 12 ft apart, and instead of getting anxious like she usually would, we were doing a bounce then slowing down the canter to get a stride inbetween! Usually she would get so anxious she’d just run through it! Super excited to get her out jumping again and to keep working on her rideability 😊

⭐️ GHT Showjumping Event ⭐️

Well for the first show of the year it definitely could’ve went worse wasn’t the result we wanted but we’re all a bit rusty 😂

The highlight of the event was prissy going around her 60cm clear and to place 6th! Still got a lot to work on especially with the breaks but it’s nice to actually get her around a course instead of her exploding, I’m very keen to see what the future holds for this one 🙌

Roo while he jumped the best he could, Mr reliable is feeling quite off and not jumping to his normal standard and which we’re now investigating! I would say onto the next but with a injured horse and rider I think our start of the season is over and hopefully we’re out competing when Ag shows start
🤞

Horses are finally back in work after a well deserved summer break, we’re currently in young while I’m doing yearling prep here, so has been a heaps new experience for them as we’ve changed things up but super happy with how they’re coming back into work and hopefully will be at a show by April 🙏

⭐️ GHT SHOW ⭐️

Well not all shows go to plan and we were definitely due for a bad one! But that’s horses isn’t it 🤦🏾‍♀️

If one thing horses have taught me is to be resilient and to get up and try again, or as fallon Taylor says I quit until tomorrow that’s really how I felt about this weekend.

We didn’t really have a great prep I’d been sick all week but horses were feeling quite nice so we’d thought why not. Day 1 - we had an accident that happened near our truck with a horse that got spooked by a lady hitting a tree limb with her float and it proceeded to bolt with a portable yard attached to it, roo was quite spooked and upset by the time we went for our metre round, I will say he pulled it together and sadly a sack the jockey moment I jumped the wrong fence in the jump off 🤦🏾‍♀️ but we placed 10th still so happy with that anyways, it’s definitely not always about ribbons, there’s a lot roo and I are working on to make the heights come easier to us both and for us to really achieve as a team.

Day 2 - roo didn’t compete this day as he hurt his eye in his box something superficial but i decided it was best for him to sit this day out, always put them first ❤️

Prissy with being on heat and just a accumulation on things, we are always making progress with her, we can now warm up next to the arenas without getting tense etc it’s now just the warm up ring where everything seems to go down hill, so we’re back to the drawing board with her.

But overall it is what it is, you’re gonna have good days and bad days and it’s just horses, you of course go through the emotions of feeling disappointed and discourage but get knocked down 7 get up 8! Off to Cobram next weekend so 🤞 we go better 😊

⭐️ Cobram show 2023 ⭐️

Of course in true show fashion it didn’t all go to plan 🤦🏾‍♀️ poor roo had a massive allergic reaction on the Friday night resulting in us calling the vet at 11pm, thank gosh they gave us the medication that was needed to bring his hives down, his belly was just one massive hive 😬 so no sleep Friday night so we decided to give the first day of the show a miss and get some rest! I think Kate and I walked at least 20km on the Friday 😂

Sunday the last day of the show was a blast! We competed in the 75cm with prissy with a lot of wins and a lot of baby green moments but couldn’t be prouder and roo taking out the win the 90cm and knocking 2 rails in the 1.05 but honestly we didn’t even know he was going to compete at all so super happy with him, honestly he’s one in a million ❤️

Thank you so much to Kate coming with me and making the travel but also staying up with me with roo and strapping all Sunday for me! Aswell a massive thank you to Amanda and Sam couldn’t have done it without the team behind me 😌

Cobram was also a drop off for goose who’s been with me for a few months for training, going to miss him but so happy he’s finally happy 😊

Now for a little break before Canberra classic 😊

!!!! SOLD!!!!

~ Selling on behalf of client ~

For your consideration, Windrella Lodge Scarlett aka Scarlett. Scarlett is approx 15hh Arab x QH 13yo Black mare. She’s a sensible and quiet mare.

Scarlett is a safe all rounder who rarely comes home without a ribbon, she’s been quite successful in the dressage, hack and Showjumping ring. Shes been to pony club, She’s been around heavy machinery, trotted behind bikes and cars, been around cattle and sheep as she was used as a stock horse, trail rides and ocean swims. She’s easy to catch , shoe, rug, worm , float or load onto truck! She’s very well mannered for her farrier. She will stand at the truck/float all day even if you’re taking away horses it never bothers her!

She’s happy to be either paddocked with horses or alone, can rug her in an open paddock without a problem, she isn’t matey at all or marey.

She’s also up to date with teeth and farrier and worming. She has no nasties, never bucked, bolted or reared.

Scarlett would suit a capable child/small adult who wants something to do low level competition and just enjoy their ride!
