Check for ticks after spending time outdoors— even in your own backyard. Tick bites can spread germs that cause illness, including Lyme disease, which is most common in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and upper Midwest. A few minutes of prevention can make a difference. Ranchers and farmers across Nevada are now saying they’re feeling the squeeze as rising costs, water concerns, imported food, and growing pressure from industrial expansion continue creating major challenges for local agriculture. 🌵🚜🏔️

Many Nevada ranchers and farmers are urging people to support Nevada-grown products and Nevada agriculture instead of relying entirely on food shipped in from out of state or overseas. At the same time, concerns continue growing over warehouse expansion, industrial development, solar projects, and giant data center proposals spreading deeper into Nevada’s open valleys and rural communities.

One Nevada rancher stated, “People don’t realize how fast open land disappears once development starts. We need to protect the people still raising cattle, growing hay, and producing food out here.”

Nevada is known for its cattle ranches, alfalfa fields, hay farms, wild horse country, and quiet rural towns stretching from Elko and Winnemucca to Fallon, Ely, Yerington, and the valleys surrounding Reno and Carson City. 🌾🐎🚜

Now ranchers and farmers across the Silver State are speaking out and want their voices heard: support Nevada agriculture before more Nevada open land disappears for good.

From the backroads outside Elko… to the ranchlands near Winnemucca… to the open desert valleys around Fallon, Ely, Pahrump, and northern Nevada… many locals say protecting ranchland and farmland means protecting Nevada itself. 🌅🏔️💙

Because once Nevada’s open spaces disappear under endless warehouses, concrete, and industrial sprawl… they may never truly come back.
