Who is The Tahoe Dog?
It is a simple contest, easy to enter and it’s FREE. Winner receives a backpack full of dog prizes.
Just upload a picture of your dog on our page Tahoe Dog, (www.facebook.com/TahoeDog) write a brief paragraph why you think your dog deserves the honor of being called "The Tahoe Dog of 2017" and your dog could win!
Deadline to enter the Who is The Tahoe Dog contest is August 1, 2017.
Winner will be recognized at our September 9, 2017 Grants Gala event at the Beach House 4081 Lakeshore Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, on the beach at the end of Park Ave. 5:30 PM
The event is our Grant Gala Black Tie (formal wear for your dog). Join us for a non hosted evening of cocktails and a meal with your four legged friend or just come and enjoy the program.

Who Is The Tahoe Dog?

Dawgs On The Run is once again sponsoring the Tahoe Dog contest.
Applications are accepted starting March 15, and through May 30, 2017.

To enter:
1. Upload a photo of your dog on our page.
www.facebook.com/TahoeDog
2. Write a brief 50 to 100 word story about why you think your dog
deserves the honor.
3. One entry per dog.
4. The dog must be a Tahoe community resident.
5. There is no fee to enter the contest.
6. The contest is open to the public.

The winner receives:
1. Recognition as the Tahoe Dog at the Black Tie Gala June event.
2. A framed certificate identifying him/her as the years Tahoe Dog.
3. A backpack full of dog goodies and prizes.

Winner selection:
1. The winners are selected by the Primary Pack Members (board
members)
2. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
3. The winner will be announced at the Black Tie Gala event (black tie is for
your dog) in June.

We have re-invented Dawgs On The Run.
It is now a membership group with benefits.
We are a non-profit organization based in South Lake Tahoe, Ca.
Our purpose is to expose people to educational information and resources for responsible pet care and to help pet owners gain a better understanding about their impact on the community.

Our mission statement:
Promoting pet ownership as a lifetime commitment.
Educating the public regarding the important benefits of the human companion animal bond and their responsibility to the community.
Promoting knowledge and respect for creatures of all species.

There are many ways you can help, from attending our events, volunteering your time to sharing our information with others or becoming a member.

Our website is presently under construction but will be completed by March 6, 2017 come take a look at it after this date.

Casey's Cantina in Round Hill has selected Dawgs On The Run as one of the non-profits to help. They will provide a percentage of their days revenue to our cause. We are the charity of the month this Thursday, July 30th. Several of us are going to meet there for diner tomorrow at 6PM, but Caseys will donate proceeds from meals all day long!Come join us if you can.

Wag, Waddle and Walk tonight!

Wag, Waddle and Walk brings dog owners together for a little exercise, optional competition and socializing. The on-leash walk starts at Dog, Dog, Cat and finishes at Base Camp Pizza.

This family friendly event is for non-aggressive canines and people. Dogs must be on-leash and up-to-date on their vaccinations.

Schedule:
Monday, June 22, 2015
5:30 - Meet at Dog, Dog, Cat in Heavenly Village
Sign waiver
Start on-leash pack walk

6:00 - Stay Competition* $5 for those who want to participate

6:30 - Finish walk at Base Camp Pizza in Heavenly Village, no-host dining and beverages
Sit and Stay Competition results and prizes
Raffle for dog and human related prizes

*Stay Competition, pass or fail
Owner places dog in a sit position within a marked area.
Owner commands the dog to stay.
Owner walks to a designated spot 6 feet from the marked area and returns.
Owner returns to dog.
Judging: Pass is awarded if the dog remains in the marked area standing, sitting or in a down, position may change. The dogs tail may extend beyond the marked . Owner walks to a marker placed 6 feet from the boundary of the marked area and returns to their dog.
Fail is awarded if the dog leaves the marked area while the owner is walking the 6 foot distance or while the owner is returning to their dog.

Bellamica Diperno Trudell and Dogovanni Otto Stien affectionally known as Bella and Otto. They sleep, eat and play together. This is their favorite beach, which has been closed since last summer. Here they are helping each other swim in a stick. They love to swim and travel. Where there is one there is the other. it is difficult to get a picture of them alone, they are always connected.

Meet Lux! A two year old Lab mix who we adopted at just 10 weeks from The Pet Network. Lux lives for the Tahoe Summers and Winters. She enjoys hiking, swimming, fluffing in deep pow, and of course chasing squirrels and bunnies.

Sadly, we won't be able to attend this event next week but we still wanted send you a picture!
