As show season starts to approach we will be moving to an every other week schedule with Jerry. That means that he won’t be here this week, but will be here next week and every other Wednesday unless we have any major scheduling conflicts.

It was such a pleasure to have 5 Star Rider Physio at the farm this weekend! Everyone walked away with a better functioning body and some tools to keep it! We will definitely be making this a semi regular thing to ensure we all continue on the path to become better more symmetrical riders!

Low quality image of one of many high quality transformations from a fantastic 2 day Rider Biomechanics and Performance Clinic in southern New Hampshire this past weekend🤩. Thank you to for hosting me, it was great to work with your riders! Hope to return to Kinney Hill Farm again this fall!

Really excited to have my Airstride boots! Frog can do some crazy things with his legs while he figures out his passage and it’s important to keep his legs protected while also considering the current research about the heat generated by boots and wraps.

One day we’re schooling 1 tempis, the next we’re doing this! Sound on to hear the wind howling in the background. So lucky to have a horse who is so chill and relaxed in life.

I am so excited to have Abi joining our team here at Kinney Hill Farm, LLC!

Kinney Hill is very excited to welcome Abi LaLiberte to the barn family! Abi is joining us as a barn worker and training to take over as barn manager!

Abi has been riding since she was six years old and has over 23 years of age experience in the horse world. She has just returned from Scotland, where she lived for several years. We are excited to see her grow in her new role, both in the barn and on the horses!

I promised an educational post and here it is! For riders who struggle to find their balance in the saddle, I use a very simple movement to help people feel the correct balance point.

While sitting in the saddle, there should be three parts of your pelvis that you are balancing on, your seat bones and your p***c bone. By lifting both legs out to the side (start off at the walk or halt on a loose rein), you are forced to balance only on your seat and will feel where you actually need to be.

It is important that you keep your knees straight and lift your legs from your hips. As long as you can keep your legs off the horse, how far you lift your legs is not important.

Ultimately you should be able to do this at all gaits but start slow! It’s harder than you might think!

A small side note, the wonkyness you see with my feet/ankles is a result of my nerve damage. It does not stop me from finding my seat though!

I am very excited to be working with to help improve and maintain Frog’s back health! He got his first FES treatment on Tuesday and is already feeling so much more confident in his collected work! Having a physiotherapist on Frog’s team is just one of the ways I ensure his health and happiness so he can preform at his best.

GMHA might not have produced the scores I wanted but it was a productive and educational weekend for me and for my student .

Leah and her young mare Bodi conquered busy warm ups and major distractions and were able to demonstrate improved ridability. They’ve still got to work on the pesky thing known as submission but they have come so far this year!

Frog showed his age a bit and there were mistakes in both tests. I am still learning how much support he needs and sometimes that changes day to day. All we can do is keep moving forward and building strength for the future.

Yesterday was another great day at GMHA! Super proud of for conquering some serious show nerves in both herself and Bodi and not only doing their test today, but doing it without me to coach as I was riding at the same time! had huge improvements in both her rides, including winning her 4-1 class on Shanti! Frog acted a bit more his age with some tension leading to difficulty in the changes but still scoring a 61%.

Everyone is headed home happy and with plenty of homework for next time!

Overall a very fun and productive day for everyone at GMHA today! Frog and I won the I1 with a 64%. ‘s Shanti put forward a much more relaxed and supple test with at 3-3 today after a last minute equipment change yesterday. Corrine’s Hanna had a beautiful warmup but suffered from some show ring nerves, which Corrine handled well and gave her the best ride she could. Finally, and Bodi had a great school demonstrating how far they have come in the last year!

It is always so fun to spend time with these lovely ladies! And as a side note, always check the fit and soundness of your equipment!
