This is Chase.

At just over 6 years old, he’s stepping into training with a lot of opinions about how the world should work. Right now, his approach is simple. See something interesting, go to it. Fully. Even if that means pulling hard enough to work against himself.

That kind of drive doesn’t get erased. It gets shaped.

Chase is a friendly, social dog who enjoys people and isn’t shy about asking for attention. Jumping, barking, pushing into space… it’s all part of how he’s learned to interact so far. No aggression here, just a dog that hasn’t been shown where the lines are yet.

The encouraging part is he’s highly motivated, especially when food is involved. That gives us something to build on. Clear communication, consistent expectations, and a structure he can understand.

Dogs like Chase don’t need less energy. They need direction.

He’s going to keep things interesting. And that’s exactly where the work begins.

Welcome to The Canine Crew, Chase.

Meet Daisy 🌼

Daisy is an eleven-month-old Cavapoo and the newest member of our . Like a lot of young dogs her age, she’s full of curiosity and enthusiasm for the world around her. People, other dogs, birds, squirrels… if it moves, Daisy wants to be part of it.

With spring settling in and more time being spent outdoors, that excitement can quickly turn into overstimulation. What looks like friendliness on the surface can become pulling, fixation, and difficulty focusing when it matters most.

That’s where the work begins.

Daisy is enrolled in our on-leash Walk 'N Learn program, where we’ll focus on building calm, structured behavior in real-world environments. The goal is not to take away her personality, but to help her navigate the world with clarity and control so she can enjoy it safely and confidently.

Every dog we work with is on their own path. Some need clarity, some need confidence, and most need a little of both.

Daisy’s journey is just getting started.

Meet Milo 🐾

Milo recently joined the Canine Crew, part of The Canine Coach, and he’s been putting in the work. Over the past few weeks, he’s made steady, meaningful progress out on walks and in real-world environments. What stood out early was his discomfort around traffic, especially large trucks. Instead of avoiding it, we’ve been working through it with structured exposure and clear guidance. He’s still honest about how he feels, but each session shows improvement, and that’s what matters.

Out on walks, Milo is now moving with far more clarity and control. What used to be pulling and reacting has turned into calm, thoughtful decision-making with his handler. He’s able to pass other dogs respectfully and respond reliably without needing constant input. That kind of progress doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from consistency and follow-through at both ends of the leash.

At home, his family recently had a big life change, and by all reports, Milo has handled it well. That speaks volumes about his temperament and the structure being put in place.

And the best part? When the work is done, Milo celebrates the only way he knows how… full-speed zoomies.

He’s about three-quarters of the way through his program, and I’m looking forward to seeing where he finishes.

If you’ve been dealing with similar challenges on walks or just want better communication with your dog, I’m always happy to help.

Welcome to the team, Bailey ❄️🐾

This sweet girl recently joined us for our Advanced On & Off Leash Walk ’n Learn program, and we’re excited to be working with her.

Bailey is a young rescue, estimated around one year old. She’s energetic, thoughtful, sometimes a little skittish, occasionally stubborn, and incredibly quick to learn. A classic mix of curiosity and heart. The kind of dog who reminds you that clear communication and consistency go a long way.

Right now, we’re focusing on foundational obedience during real-world walks. This approach helps dogs like Bailey build confidence, understand expectations, and learn how to navigate their environment calmly and safely alongside their people.

What stands out already is how quickly she picks up cues once things are made clear. That’s always a good sign, not just of a smart dog, but of a dog who’s ready to engage and work with her handler.

We’re looking forward to watching Bailey grow as her family and training journey continue.

If you enjoy following along with dogs like Bailey, feel free to like and follow the page. And if you ever need help bridging the communication gap with your own dog, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Welcome aboard, Bailey. We’re glad you’re here. 🐶💙

🐾 Welcome, Chloe!

Meet Chloe, a 5-year-old Corgi-Chihuahua mix who recently joined The Canine Coach for our Walk ’n Learn program. Chloe is a sensitive little dog who feels safest when she’s close to her favorite people. Her family reached out because she’s been feeling unsure around visitors and tends to take on the role of “protector” when she’s at home.

Our goal is to help Chloe and her family build clearer communication and more confidence together. With patience, structure, and consistent coaching, we’ll work toward helping her feel more secure in her world and more relaxed in everyday situations.

Welcome to The Canine Crew, Chloe. You’re in good hands. 💛

🎓 Welcome, Otis!

Meet Otis, a handsome 1.5-year-old Bluetick Coonhound who just started his Basic & Advanced Walk ’n Learn program!

Otis’ family knew they wanted to invest in training before they even brought him home, which is a great example of setting a dog up for success from the start. At 80 pounds of confidence and curiosity, Otis has plenty of personality to match his strength. He loves people, but sometimes his enthusiasm gets the best of him, especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello or pulling ahead on leash to meet new friends.

Today’s session was all about getting to know where he’s at and establishing a foundation for clear communication. He’s a sweet, social, and smart boy, and with consistent structure and guidance, he’s going to make incredible progress.

Welcome to The Canine Crew, Otis! 🐾

Do you know what to do if your dog gets skunked?

Skunks are notorious for their defense mechanism — a spray with an unmistakably pungent odor. Pet owners seldom witness their pets being sprayed by a skunk, but the smell is uniquely unpleasant.

Depending where on their body a dog gets sprayed, being skunked can generally be handled at home by decontaminating your dog with a special bathing formula. However, in some scenarios, a veterinary exam may be necessary.

Getting sprayed in the face can often cause eye irritation or damage. Dogs with multiple skunk spray exposures or a severe reaction to skunk spray could also develop dangerous anemia.

🐾 Welcome Ronan to the Canine Crew! 🐾

Ronan is a two-and-a-half-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and American Pit Bull mix who recently found his forever home with Eric. He is a happy, well-rounded companion who just needs a little polish when it comes to greeting guests without quite so much enthusiasm and keeping his cool when landscapers are around.

Eric’s goal is bigger than fixing small quirks. He wants a deeper bond with Ronan and the confidence to enjoy life together both on leash and off leash. That is why they have joined our Advanced Walk and Learn Obedience Program.

Obedience is built on structure, but the real success comes from the trust and connection you have with your dog. We are excited to help Eric and Ronan strengthen that partnership so they can explore more of the world together.

Welcome aboard, Ronan. The adventure begins! 🐕✨
