“What are you doing lady!? You should be walking me, not cleaning!” -Sandor

When Sandors family is gone for a week they deserve a quick vacuuming before arriving back home. On Sandor’s last drop in of the week he got to follow me and my shark around the house. 🤪🐾✨

What’s your favorite trick for keeping a toilet bowl sparkling clean? 🚽

One of my favorite tools is a pumice stone. When used correctly on a wet porcelain toilet bowl, it’s incredibly effective at removing stubborn hard water rings and mineral buildup without relying on harsh toilet bowl cleaners.

It’s one of those simple tools that can make a huge difference when regular scrubbing isn’t enough.

Do you have a favorite cleaning tip or tool? I’d love to hear it!

Just throwing it out there that I’m still accepting donations to fund free community cleanings! One has already been completed and my goal is to book one more later on in the year!

💙 Community Update

The cleaning has officially been completed!

As promised, I went ahead with the service because I believe his focus should be on healing—not worrying about the condition of his home.

The total value of today’s professional cleaning was $270.

I know times are tough for everyone, but if you’ve been thinking about helping and haven’t had the chance yet, donations of any amount are still greatly appreciated. Every dollar will go toward covering the cost of this cleaning so it doesn’t come out of my pocket or his.

If you’d like to contribute, you can send a donation through my business Zelle, I’ll leave info in comments. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this post is another great way to help.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort with encouragement, shares, and kindness. This is what community is all about.

Not everything needs to be deep cleaned every visit.

One of the biggest differences between a maintenance cleaning and a deep cleaning is knowing what actually needs attention.

Take this soaking tub, for example. During regular maintenance visits, I wipe it down, remove dust, hair, and any fresh residue. But I don’t spend extra time scrubbing the entire tub every single visit if it doesn’t need it.

Instead, I watch for the little things:
✨ Soap scum starting to build.
✨ Mineral deposits.
✨ Body oil residue.
✨ Areas losing their shine.

When I notice those signs, that’s when it gets a thorough scrub to bring it back to looking like new.

This approach keeps your home consistently clean while making the best use of the time you’re paying for. Maintenance cleaning isn’t about doing the same checklist every visit—it’s about paying attention to what your home needs that day.

A good maintenance cleaner doesn’t just clean. They notice.

Dory demands carrot sticks multiple times a day! This girl is 16 years old and does everything she can to not act her age. I hope I’m just like her in my senior years!

🥒 The last 24 hours have been a busy one! 🌿

When I’m not cleaning homes or caring for pets, you’ll usually find me in my garden or in the kitchen preserving the harvest.

Over the last day, here’s what came out of this year’s cucumber crop:

🥒 20 pints of Garlic Dill Pickles
🌶️ 7½ pints of Spicy Garlic Dill Pickles
🍬 2 gallons of Sweet & Sour Pickles (plus an extra gallon of brine for the next batch!)
🥄 9½ half-pints of Sweet Relish
🥄 5 pints of Sweet Relish

To make all of this, I used approximately:
🥒 45–50 cucumbers
🧅 5 onions
🧄 3 full heads of garlic

There’s something incredibly rewarding about growing your own food and filling the pantry with jars that will last through the seasons. Every cucumber was picked from the garden, every jar was packed by hand, and hearing those lids pop after coming out of the canner never gets old.

Now comes the hard part… waiting a few weeks before opening the first jar! 😄

Does anyone else spend their summer canning? I’d love to see what you’ve been putting up this year!
