The Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) was founded in 1901 and serves Chittenden & Grand Isle Counties. Each year, we welcome more than 1,400 animals and as many as 15,000 people to our 12,000 square foot facility in South Burlington. We at the Humane Society of Chittenden County believe that supporting, strengthening and sustaining the bonds between people and pets improves the well-being

of individuals, families and communities. Our mission is to ensure that every pet has a loving home and that every pet owner has access to the resources they need to give those pets happy, healthy lives. We accomplish this by...
-Rehoming animals in need
-Helping pet owners keep their beloved pets through several surrender prevention
services, offered free of charge
-Providing humane education programs to kids, teens, and adults
-Assisting law enforcement in animal cruelty investigations
-Transporting hundreds of animals each year from high-volume shelters in the
South so they have a greater chance at finding a home

Senior sweetheart Jasper was adopted just in time to enjoy the long weekend with his new family! ☀ His adopters came in with an open heart and mind, willing to give Jasper the life he so deserves and work with him to introduce him to a cat, kids, and even chickens at home. And they understood the assignment: stocking up on enrichment items like Kongs (and plenty of tennis balls!) before taking their new bestie home - where he'll have 60 acres to frolic around! Congratulations and Happy Tails to our favorite sporty boy and his wonderful new family! 🥳🎉

Please join us in celebrating the first HSCC-iversary of Ella, our wonderful Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator! 🥳🎉 From onboarding volunteers and giving tours to managing our Community Pet Food Shelf and rolling up her sleeves to jump in and help wherever help is needed - Ella does it all! She cares deeply for all our furry friends (and she often has one or two residing in her office!), as well as all the humans who care for them every day. Ella's dedication to supporting our incredible volunteers and her fellow teammates is truly inspiring, and we're so lucky to have her on our team. Thank you, Ella, for everything you do! 💕

📣HSCC is in desperate need of *kitten* food for our teeny feline friends! We currently have over 2 dozen kittens in our care - including this litter of babies who were born in an empty apartment after mom had been abandoned there.

Please consider donating if you have any extra cans or you're able to buy some from a local pet store or our wish lists - we're open to any brands but our babies especially love Fancy Feast Kitten and Purina Pro Plan!
