I want to take a moment to say how proud I am of this guy. Christopher started baking cookies for the market earlier this year and for the last couple months I've been teaching him to make sourdough bread. I think he's a natural! He's really taken to it and does an excellent job. I'm so proud of all the work he's put into learning this skill and the care he takes to make beautiful (and delicious!) bread.

The sunflower field is starting to come online. Ryan thinks the flowers are at least 15 feet tall. Amazing. These are branching sunflowers, so after the initial bloom, there will be many sideshoots to beautify the neighborhood and feed the birds and pollinators through the late summer and fall.

Thank you for your patience as the demand for our locally grown, chemical-free lettuce has increased. We work hard planting and harvesting every week, but it takes 8 weeks from seed to harvest for a row of lettuce to be ready. We cannot simply "plant more" now, because that would lead to an oversupply come September when most people have returned to their regular shopping habits. For those who stick with us, thank you for supporting the local economy and local farmers. You ARE making a difference, by not giving into the system of mass produced food. Every little bit counts in this small but mighty act of resistance.
