This is Happy! She’s in for a tune up and ready to be adopted. Please message the Healimg Hearts Hooves and paws page.
Happy is as happy does ❤️
We believe Happy is ready to be placed. Woot woot! Happy is an 18-19 year old, 14.1h Haflinger mare. She has not been ridden in a few years so she was in for a tune up 😊
Happy is friendly and very willing to please under saddle. She thrives on positive guidance, a soft hand and a confident rider. She seems to be a bit apprehensive and anxious around overly loud or aggressive voices/people. But who can blame her? Makes me anxious too. 😬
Happy came into rescue in Dec with her best bud Blue(who can go with her if you have a big open heart). She was pretty pushy on the ground initially and you had to take all her friends out of the paddock first to catch her. Nothing overly challenging, just a little patience required. Her ground manners have improved and she stands beautiful for farrier, vet, baths, fly spray, blanketing.
She has been stalled at night the last few months but was in pasture turnout for ten years - she does well in either situation. She loves her horsey friends but can be socially awkward - a bit of a bully sometimes. She can be turned out alone with friends over the fence or turned out with equally confident friends. We had her with Chris’ personal horses and they are playful and relatively low key. She integrated fairly well but they stood back from her now and then. She is super joyful and playful so she WANTS buddies. In that way, she’s like Chris’ mustang. So you adapt.
She is working on collection and doing beautifully. She is fit for a confident rider with a soft hand, whether that be an advanced beginner or intermediate rider. She is responsive to leg and verbal communication and does well in both arena and outside work. She loves trail rides but needs to go out with another horse. Good on all three gaits, needs some wet saddle pads to continue to progress. She’s done really well quickly for being not ridden for so long. She knows what to do.
Happy loads with patience and prefers a larger trailer or stock. Again, patience and continued experience will improve this. She’s been loaded three times with us.
Happy is a cool little mare, a sassy Haflinger(which is redundant). Easy keeper, barefoot. She will excel with her person! A great little partner. 💕
