🌟 Happy Tails: Leo’s Forever Adventure! 🌟

Some journeys take a little longer—and Leo's was one of them. This lovable guy spent months in our care, and though he was adopted a few times, things just never quite clicked. But Leo never gave up… and neither did we. 💛

And then… he found them. A sweet, patient couple who saw Leo for the amazing pup he is. Now he's living his best beach life, soaking up the sun, hitting the trails, and finally getting the love and stability he always deserved.

From shelter pup to seaside hikes—this is what forever looks like. 🐾🌊

Join us for a runway fashion show featuring adoptable dogs and SCSPCA alumni dressed to impress, a silent auction full of community treasures, and a few surprise appearances from local pups hitting the catwalk!

Two ticket types are available—each offering a unique experience:

General Admission – $8 (Museum Admission)
Perfect for those who want to enjoy the event at the standard museum entry price. This ticket includes access to the fashion show and silent auction and allows you to experience the fun at your own pace.

Top Dog VIP Experience – $45
For those who want to elevate the afternoon, the VIP ticket offers a more immersive and luxurious experience. You’ll enjoy:

- Complimentary wine or beer
- Hors d’oeuvres and live music
- Exclusive access to the third-floor sculpture garden
- A private meet-and-greet with adoptable dogs
- Front-row seats to the fashion show

VIP guests will not only have the best views and perks, but their ticket purchase directly supports the Santa Cruz SPCA’s lifesaving work!

🐾 Sunday Smiles Incoming! 🐾
Let’s end the week with some paw-perfect cuteness 💛

Some of our adoptable dogs have had the best time on their Doggy Day Out adventures with our amazing volunteers recently — sniffing trails, soaking up sunshine, cruising in style, and stealing hearts along the way. 🐶💕

These outings give our pups a much-needed break from the shelter and help them show off their sweet, silly, lovable personalities outside their kennels!

🚨 Pupdate Alert! 🚨

Remember Nala? The goofy ball-obsessed girl with the heart of gold? Well… she’s living her best life now as MAYA, and let's just say - our girl has leveled up. 💅🐾

According to her new humans:

✅ She’s training to be a Service Dog Extraordinaire
✅ She nails commands like "heel, stay, sit, down" AND "no kisses" (we’re honestly impressed by that one)
✅ She's attended BBQs, banks, diners, grocery stores, beaches, dog parks, fancy restaurants (yes, Maya is now fine dining)
✅ She’s gone from dog beach bum to protest marcher to camper van adventurer 🐶🌊✊🚐
✅ And she’s officially retired from her ball-chasing, nippy-hyper phase (RIP to her tennis ball addiction 🎾💀)

From tummy troubles to tummy rubs, Maya’s found her forever fam and we couldn't be happier. 💖

Here's a little summary from her adopters: "Maya, formally known as Nala, is absolutely fantastic! We are working toward full Service Dog certification in fact. We've actually been asked to leave her with neighbors, family and friends because she's so good ;). We are soo incredibly lucky to have found our new family member! Thank you for doing what you all do for the furbabies!"

To Maya’s new humans: THANK YOU for loving her so hard and giving her a life as epic as she is.

Fireworks can be fun for humans but scary for pets — keep your furry friends safe with these quick tips:

🐾 Keep pets cozy indoors (you can use calming music or white noise to help mask fireworks)
🐾 Double-check ID tags & microchips
🐾 Avoid fireworks and party food

💡 Plan ahead to keep tails wagging and whiskers calm!
