Circle C in Sophia, is looking for a very specific Volunteer for a short-term/summer long commitment. We are looking for someone who is at least 18 years old, with enough English riding experience to school, kindly support, and manage shenanigans on a green horse. We would like for this Volunteer to be confident getting horses out of a field, and be independent in grooming, tacking, and caring for the horse. Ideally this Volunteer would be available at least twice a week (or more) for most of the weeks this summer in the evenings between 6:00-8:00pm and any time between 9:30am-4pm on Saturdays. If you are not already an Adult member of the Girl Scouts, we would need you to join, there is a $30 fee and a background check. The horse is a 16ish hand Thoroughbred, he's, smart, odd, unmotivated, and a push ride. He needs consistency that we can not offer him this time of year as we head into Summer Camp season. This would be perfect for someone who's looking to increase their riding time, a student home for the summer, someone in between programs or someone with experience who's been taking a break. Our staff will help you make a training plan and be onsite while you ride for assistance. If you are interested please email [email protected].

We added a load of stone dust to the Mini's paddock for enrichment purposes. Mickey not only supervised the whole process, but as soon as the raking was done, was the first to demonstrate how to use it. Smart boy!
