National Dog Day is almost here and there are SO MANY great ways to spoil your pup with ice cream, whipped cream, or a super classy bandana!

Most of these are good year round and I need to note that some locations will charge while many are free, some may have different pup treats, and some might not do it at all (who doesn't want to watch a pup get a treat?!).

With that said, here are twelve ways to pamper your pooch:

Dutch Bros: Get a free mystery bandana with drink purchase tomorrow (8/26) and they have pup cups year round!

Scooter's Coffee: Get a free VIP (Very Important Pup) Cup tomorrow with any purchase and the cup itself is a special silicone one that you could use again later.

Starbucks: Get a Puppuccino (whipped cream in a cup)

Andy's Frozen Custard: Free Pup Cones with purchase (this is legit custard!)

Dairy Queen: Pup Cup (varies by location)

Dunkin: Cup for Pup with whipped cream

Bruster's Ice Cream: Free Doggie Sundae with purchase

7 Brew: Pup Cup of whipped cream and treat with purchase

Sonic: Wag Cup (small soft serve) cup

Chick-fil-A: Free dog treat (varies by location)

Rita's: Pup Cup (small cup of custard)

Culvers: Free dog treat (varies by store)

Our volunteers have been super busy for the last few weeks while our "Bark to School" 50/50 Fundraiser was going on. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO LISA BYRD OF SOPERTON, GA, WHO WAS THE WINNER OF THE FUNDRAISER AND NETTED HERSELF $2665!! Thanks to all who purchased some of the 1066 chances which were sold!!! We love all of you for supporting us!

Additionally, we have also sent quite a few to new homes in the last couple of weeks!
💎July 28: A volunteer drove a litter of small black lab puppies to Atlanta.
💎July 31: Nate, Newt, Nala, and Nikki were picked up in Soperton and transported to NY.
💎July 31: Our sweet Tolo was adopted locally and is already being spoiled by his new family!!!💕
💎August 4: A volunteer drove Clark and Bingo to Macon to meet their transport to NY.
💎August 5: A volunteer drove Cash to Brunswick to meet his ride to Florida
💎August 8: Volunteers will drive Butterscotch, Gus, and Ziggy to Macon to meet their transport to NJ.

DITR is still in the business of rescuing and rehoming! Sometimes we have to say no for various reasons when we are contacted about helping animals: 1) we have no one to foster; 2) boarding (as opposed to fostering) is expensive; 3) it is an animal which we have not been successful in moving in the past; 4) we have quite a number of animals which have been with us for awhile, and we are diligently working to get those into a rescue, etc.

We were absolutely overwhelmed at the number of entries for our Bark to School 50/50 fundraiser! We sold a total of 1066 chances at $5 each, and our winner received 50% of the proceeds while the rescue received the remaining 50%.
