These precious babies came in on Mon, and they are headed out today to SC, along with our 8 shepherd mix babies. Happy trails, sweet puppies! A new life is awaiting!

We are coming coming up on the deadline for purchasing tickets (Tues, May 12), so let us know how many you need! There will also be a pick-up location at Wilkes Funeral Home in Vidalia at 5:00 on the day of the event, so let us know if you want to meet our volunteer there to get your plates! This will be the perfect dinner for your Friday evening!

An update on "Miss Divine," the Walmart mama! Crystal Hester Rowell suggested we change her name to Novalee, the main character in the movie "Where the Heart is." Perfect! Our girl is now Novalee!

Some good news for our Walmart mama: SHE IS HEARTWORM NEGATIVE!! She and her 5 babies are in a foster home where they are being well cared for. Dr. Faulk said the puppies are 4 wks, so they are now starting on some canned puppy food, which they love!

More new intakes! This sweet mama had been roaming in Vidalia between Walmart and the car wash. It's a wonder she hasn't been run over. She was so sweet, and so many were concerned because she was obviously nursing puppies. Some kind people did a stake out and followed her to find 5 beautiful, healthy little ones in the woods. She is the sweetest, most gentle mama, and she knows we are all helping her along to a better life for her little family. She and the babies are now inside with cool air, and mama has plenty to eat and drink. The babies are probably about 3 wks and still nursing. Mama will be vetted, vaccinated, heartworm tested, treated for fleas and intestinal parasites, and she will eventually be spayed. In a few wks, the puppies will need to be vetted and vaccinated as well, so we are looking at a little extra expense with this family.
In the meantime, meet MISS DIVINE and her sweet babies!
