This is the heartbreaking video that first showed us Ronnie needed a chance. 💔 Picked up off the streets. Sitting alone in a shelter. Confused, shut down, and unsure what would happen next. But that sad video is not the whole story (swipe right!).
Ronnie made it out, and since then, we’ve watched this resilient, athletic, loving boy begin to transform. He is currently being fostered by a professional trainer and behavioral consultant who is helping him build confidence, structure, basic manners, and trust. Ronnie loves fetch, squeaky balls, naps, and being close to his people. He is smart, affectionate, eager to learn, and especially lovely with adults.
We are recommending an experienced, adult-only home to set Ronnie up for success. He does not have a full known history, and as a larger, athletic dog still learning manners, he can get excited, jump up, or be mouthy — behaviors that could be overwhelming for children, though they are not rooted in aggression.
Ronnie would thrive in a calmer home with someone active who enjoys walks, hiking, training, enrichment, and giving a very deserving dog the life he’s been waiting for. He will need a patient adopter who can continue building on his progress.
From the streets, to the shelter, to a foster home where he is learning he is safe… now Ronnie just needs a family of his own. 🤍
