Green City Growers

Green City Growers We help you farm. Anywhere. PRODUCTION. EDUCATION. INSTALLATION. VISION.

GREEN CITY GROWERS are passionate and experienced organic farmers who specialize in year-round raised bed urban farms for yards, rooftops, decks and unused lots. We maintain production-level urban farms for hotels, grocers and restaurants around Greater Boston, Like the rooftop farm at Whole Foods in Lynnfield. We pioneer farming education programs for businesses, municipalities, home-owners and s

chools throughout Greater Boston. We design every farm and garden to spec, build from sustainable materials and install each each organic urban farm, corporate or residential, large or small, with precision and care. We envision a world where rooftops and vacant lots become common and productive places to grow food - an urban agricultural revolution for a healthier nation. People from all walks of life, living in urban areas, will have access to a network of sustainable urban farms, fueling personal and environmental health, and local food sustainability.

As we start off 2026, we’re filled with gratitude and pride for all the incredible work accomplished at Green City Growers in the past year. A huge thank you to our dedicated partners, community collaborators, and everyone who supports our mission, we wouldn’t be here without you!

We are beyond lucky to bring the magic of food-growing to so many different communities, from schools and multi-family housing to corporate offices and beyond. Each garden we tend, each partnership we grow, and each person we inspire is a reminder of the impact we can make on the local food system when we work together.

Here’s to another year of cultivating connections and growing with purpose! 🎉🌿

Earlier this fall, we installed 5 units at a biopharma company located in Cambridge. They were looking for an office amenity that would contribute to green building points and create real impact by providing employees with fresh produce.

After a couple of weeks of growth, their lobby was filled with fresh herbs that employees were invited to harvest directly from the wall. This first program was a success! Every last leaf was harvested off the wall, and everyone left with a bundle of new veggies to try. Excited to continue growing the urban ag movement close to home! 🥬 🌿

From the heart of downtown Boston to neighborhoods of the South Shore, our gardens are making lasting community impacts one seed at a time!

This summer, we followed two of our farmers out to some of our and multi-family sites to celebrate the joys of connecting over freshly grown produce. Whether it’s attending an indoor hydroponics harvest event or planting seeds in our raised beds out in the sun, we love connecting with our participants and hearing their stories from the garden. Cheers to continuing to grow together and cultivating their communities!☀️🥬

🌟Site Spotlight: Caldwell! GCG runs a thriving rooftop garden at this multi-family residence building in Lynn. Rooftop growing is one of the many ways agriculture can be integrated into urban building designs.

This amenity creates a new space for social interaction beyond the lobby and the mailroom. Farming allows residents to connect over a common goal, such as maintaining a specific bed each week or harvesting a new crop. Our garden beds cross generational divides and create spaces for connection, learning, and growth!
