GREEN CITY GROWERS are passionate and experienced organic farmers who specialize in year-round raised bed urban farms for yards, rooftops, decks and unused lots. We maintain production-level urban farms for hotels, grocers and restaurants around Greater Boston, Like the rooftop farm at Whole Foods in Lynnfield. We pioneer farming education programs for businesses, municipalities, home-owners and s

chools throughout Greater Boston. We design every farm and garden to spec, build from sustainable materials and install each each organic urban farm, corporate or residential, large or small, with precision and care. We envision a world where rooftops and vacant lots become common and productive places to grow food - an urban agricultural revolution for a healthier nation. People from all walks of life, living in urban areas, will have access to a network of sustainable urban farms, fueling personal and environmental health, and local food sustainability.

It’s Farmer Training Week at GCG! Our team has been busy behind the scenes, making sure that our farmers have all the tools and resources they need to be successful out at our sites. The office is buzzing with new and returning farmers, all sharpening their skills, picking up fresh tips, and gearing up to get their hands dirty in the field. We can’t wait to see what this growing season has in store!

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and Somerville Director of Public Space & Urban Forestry, Luisa Oliveria, at our GCG Headquarters. We gave her a tour of our facilities, showed off the new greenhouse, and discussed all things urban agriculture. #Fenwayfarms - we’re the Red Sox’s other Farm Team! Our 5,000 sqft rooftop farm at Fenway Park provides fresh organic produce to the on-site restaurants.

We use OMRI certified organic inputs for all of our farms and gardens.
