fetch. fetch. www.fetchhappens.com An example of what people are saying about fetch(.) From Michelle S. in Somerville--
I LOVE Mel and Michelle!!!

They have been my lifesavers and personal dog experts for a while now. They take my dog, Lula, 3 days/ week for a play group and my wild dog couldn't be happier. They just get my dog..and me. The poor girl had 6 homes before I adopted her..and all of this before she was 6 months! She is a spunky and outgoing black lab/maybe pit bull mix and they truly understand her. Mel is my primary contact and

she is amazing about keeping me informed, letting me know when someone is just a teensy weensy bit off, and sometimes they even make homemade dog treats!! They take Lula out, clean her up and fill her bowl, and leave her with a yummy treat each day. She is a happy and balanced dog. More importantly, Mel can manage my anxiety. Lula can be a runner and can get aggressive when scared. I'm nervous when I'm not with her. Mel has absolutely showed me up and demonstrated that she is a knowledgeable professional who knows what she's doing way more than I do. Mostly, I love that when she shares things with me about my dog's quirky behaviors or needs I don't feel like she is talking down to me or making me feel stupid. I feel like we're a team. She is punctual and reliable. She sends me pictures or videos almost daily. Her videos are super cute too. It's usually her talking to the dogs, or the dogs wrestling. I can see that Lula is having a great time!

This is obviously cute/funny, but we can't stress how dangerous it is (long term) for squishy-faced breeds to be outside for extended periods of time in hot weather (anything over 70-75 degrees), especially pups who like to play/run.

Please keep your frenchies, bulldogs, pugs, mastiffs, etc. cool in the summer. If their panting sounds clogged or wet, they're struggling.

BRADY’S TOP 6 SUMMERTIME SAFETY TIPS

1. Don't exercise in warm temps. Just stay inside wif the AC. Maybe don't even go outside to go potty on some days. Learn to use the hooman bathroom.

2. If you must go outside on hot days, tell yer mom to carry you or get you a pup stroller - don't let the sunny sidewalks n hot roads burn yer feets!

3. Never ever ever let anyone leave you in a car wifout hooman supervision and the AC blastin. Even fer just a second. Even if the windows are cracked. You could get stolen or DIE from heat stroke!

4. Protect yerself against skeeters n fleas. You don't wanna end up wif nasty skeeter heartworms or a flea saliva skin infection, do you?

5. Always wear a life jacket near water. Sure, some frenchies can swim, but it's difficult fer us. We has short stubby legs n beeg chesticles. It takes us 80 times more effort to keep our heads above water than it would fer a hooman to just slip us into a life jacket.

6. When in doubt, just chill out in the AC n have yer servants fan you wif palm frawns!

ALERT! There have been reports of an outbreak of leptospirosis at the Arlington dog park. It spreads through contact with infected urine, and since the dog park is basically a canine litter box, if you frequent it or the area around it (bike path, field, etc.,) know the symptoms and be proactive! This particular bacteria is also able to be transmitted to humans. Disease spreads quickly in a pack, so as always, if your pup is showing signs of any potentially contagious infection, let us know! Stay healthy everyone.

Leptospirosis is an infection of bacterial spirochetes, which dogs acquire when subspecies of the Leptospira interrogans pe*****te the skin and spread through the body by way of the bloodstream.

Hello Fetch Family!

Did you know that the humans behind Fetch., are a family of artists as well as your pup's Pack Leaders? Mel is a writer and photographer/filmmaker, Gracie the French bulldog is a snuggling virtuoso, and Michelle makes beautiful handmade pottery.

The latter of those three is selling her pieces through Kickstarter to raise funds for the expensive pieces of equipment she needs to fire her pieces and a space to put them.

If you like thoughtfully crafted tableware, and supporting your local arts community, make a pledge! We have until October 31 to raise $2300 through Kickstarter's "all or nothing" platform, so even if you can't be a backer please share the campaign to help reach more people who might be interested in being a part of her success.

Thank you for reading!
