Masterson Veterinary Clinic had its start in 1950 by the late Dr. Ralph Masterson. Dr. Masterson provided small animal and farm animal care to the people of Perry County and the surrounding area. After graduating from Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, his daughter, Dr. Rhonda Masterson joined him in the practice. Dr. Rhonda Masterson became a solo practitioner after the

passing of her father and mentor in 1989. The practice began to grow and Dr. Rhonda Masterson welcomed her first associate at that time to help her continue to provide farm and small animal care in our county and surrounding areas. After all, our pets are part of our families and deserve the best possible healthcare we can give them. At Masterson Veterinary Clinic we are dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pet, while keeping it affordable. Our practice takes pride in the fact that we are very family oriented. Our staff looks forward to getting to know you and your pet(s). We believe in providing quality, personal care to our clients and their furry family members. As we near the end of Heartworm Awareness Month, we want to remind you to look back at our previous/pinned post in regards to the current promotions going on!‼️

We also want to share about the importance of keeping our pets on prevention! 🐾❤️

This is a video of a blood sample under the microscope, pulled from a dog that tested positive for Heartworms at an exam recently. In this video you can see movement, those are microfilaria. Heartworm microfilaria are tiny, immature heartworms that circulate in the blood stream of infected animals. They are transmitted by mosquitoes and then mature into adult Heartworms, causing life threatening issues. It is highly recommended that Heartworm/Tick Borne Disease Testing is done annually and prevention is given all year round!🦟
