PLEASE SHARE!!! No more lounging around for Rudy! It's back to training for this velvet eared hound dog! Rudy's hip surgery was a success and now he has the green light to get on with life. He still has some muscle development needed in his left hip, but he is well on his way. This is a short video of his first post-surgery obedience session. This dog is such a sweet, loving boy. We have dogs, a cat, grandkids, and chickens and he is good with all of them,,,except maybe the chickens. Rudy eats his meals with the other dogs without bothering them. He does great in his crate, even when we are gone for several hours. This is a great improvement. Rudy is not a fan of long car rides. He doesn't misbehave but he drools because of it. Short rides are okay. He is good on leash walks and is very friendly with those he meets. For the last few nights, he has been left out of the crate, and he has done terrific! He either climbs in bed or takes his typical space on the couch. Overall, Rudy is a pretty low maintenance companion. He not ready to be leash-free though.
