Hello Heartland Families, just so you know that we do not remove dew claws on our puppies! Apparently this procedure has been banned in Europe and hopefully will do so here in the US someday :)

Dewclaws are the 'extra' nails on dogs' paws; they are typically found on the front paws, but can also occur on rear paws, or all four paws.

"Hi Jan,

It’s been sometime since we chatted and I thought I’d catch up a bit. Finn is now 3, 58 pounds, an athlete, and I am hopeful he passes his therapy dog test when we return home in the spring.

I cannot express how incredible of an obedient dog and wonderful companion he is. Everyone who meets Finn is just so in awe. Even those folks who have never been dog people will admit he is impressive. As a matter of fact, when he hears the UPS truck he sits at the end of the driveway for the driver to stop and give him a dog cookie.

We walk 3-4 miles everyday here in Florida and he heals off leash. When walking he greets people while sitting and shaking hands or offering a high five. In Minnesota he is an Olympic quality swimmer and jumps from the dock to get a ball or chase a loon.

I’m telling you, life is good with a Heartland Labradoodle.
