This page is maintained by the Animal Services Director / Manager. Please note that all animals advertised on our site are mixed breeds.

Unless verified by the Office Manager, assume all animals are not purebred. We are a first come, first serve Shelter. We will not hold an animal for anyone. The only time we hold animals is if someone calls and says they are on their way from out of town to adopt a particular animal. We will not hold an animal on the chance it might be adopted or for more than a couple hours. ADOPTIONS:
Female and

male dogs adoption fees are $95.00

Female and male cats adoption fees are $75.00

For animals already sterilized, adoption fees are 25.00

If one of your dogs comes into our facility we charge 20.00 impound fee, a 25.00 sterility fee (If you cannot show that your dog is spayed/neutered and has current rabies shot), and a 7.00 boarding fee every day that your animal is here.

Adoption include feline rhinotracheitis-calici-Panleukopenia Vaccine, a wellness check from a veterinarian located in Socorro, NM, where the pet will receive rabies vaccine and sterilization. Note: Vet may charge for other vaccines not chargeable to the shelter.

Eclipse is a 2-year-old female husky mix bursting with energy, curiosity, and playful spirit. She’s extremely people-friendly and thrives on activity, always ready for a walk, a game, or any kind of adventure. Eclipse has a strong, outgoing personality and would do well anywhere that can provide her with structure, enrichment, and opportunities to stay both mentally and physically engaged. When it comes to other dogs, Eclipse is very curious and playful. She’s often the first to jump at the chance to interact, tail constantly wagging and body language excited, her interest seems enthusiastic and positive.

Brutus is a one-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix with a heart full of hope. He first came to our shelter as a puppy but was returned. Now he’s back, confused, a little unsure, but still holding onto his gentle spirit. Brutus can be standoffish and skittish at first, especially with new people and unfamiliar situations. But beneath that hesitation is a curious and loving boy who wants to trust, he just needs someone patient enough to show him how. He’s not the dog who will run into your arms on day one. But give him time, consistency, and kindness, and you’ll earn his trust, his loyalty, and a quiet bond that runs deep

These are all the dogs available for adoption at the Socorro Animal Shelter & Adoption Center.

Adoption Prices are typically $95.00 and includes the cost of sterility (spay or neuter). DA2PP & Bordetella vaccinations given within 24 hours of intake, A 1 year rabies is included as well as a "well pet exam" from one of either Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic or The Ark of Socorro Veterinary Clinic to be used within three days of adoption.

Pets that come in to our Shelter already sterilized are offered at a special rate of $50.00, and also includes the above vaccinations and well pet visit from one of our local Veterinarians.
