Seeking 1-2 Volunteers to help with the care and conditioning of two lovely rescued fjord gentlemen in their 20s owned by the Norwegian Fjord Horse Rescue Network. Located at Grateful Pine Farm in Snohomish, WA.
You would partner with one of these horses and treat them as if they were your own horse. Minimum commitment 3x/week, long-term preferred.
Duties include grooming, hair care, handwalking, snuggles, ground handling, relationship building, grain baggie prep, and the potential for riding. No stall cleaning or barn duties, other than sweeping up after yourself. A free weekly lesson with "your" horse is included as a reward and to help coordinate on their training/handling/care plan.
The goal is for light riding, but it will take some slow and careful TLC to get to that point. Lessons will be on groundwork until they are cleared for undersaddle, with no guarantees for riding.
They are gentle and suitable for an advanced beginner, but a reasonable amount of horse experience is required, as much of the handling will be unsupervised. Minimum age 16.
