It’s hard to believe that exactly one year ago, Quaba gave birth to 17 puppies, 14 of which survived birth. When the vets told us that they could see at least 15 pups on her X-ray the week before, we were in disbelief. The average litter size for German Shepherds is 6–8 puppies, so Quaba more than doubled that!

The first few weeks were challenging as we worked to make sure Quaba and all 14 of her puppies were healthy and thriving. While we did supplement feed some of the smallest puppies, Quaba did an amazing job caring for her pups and ensuring that every one of them was thriving.

We then had the fun task of coming up with 14 different names for her 14 little pups for their AKC registration. Some of them go by the name that we had given them to this day.

That being said, happy first birthday to:
* Hagelslag now Scout (light blue female)
* HanutA (brown collar female)
* Haribo now Beau (yellow collar male)
* Hela (forest green female)
* Hennessy now Alba (rose collar female)
* Henry now Huey (orange collar male)
* Hexe (purple collar female)
* Hippo (pink collar male)
* Hockey (silver collar female)
* Honey now Hazel (gold collar female)
* Huckleberry Finn now Finn (dark blue collar male)
* Huma now Koa (light green collar male)
* Hunk now Bear (red collar male)
* Hängebauchschwein (black collar male)

We can’t believe it’s already been a year, and we’re so happy to know that all 14 puppies found their perfect homes. We still get to see many of them in group classes or when they come back for boarding, and we love receiving updates on the pups who live a little farther away. Thank you to all of their families for giving them wonderful homes and for keeping us updated on how they’re doing. We love watching them grow up and thrive in their families!

Exciting news! If all goes as planned, we will be adding SG Chanel Von der Burg Königstein to our breeding program in the next few weeks. Chanel was born November 3rd, 2023 and holds a BH, AD, IGP1 and IGP2 training title. She does not only have a strong VA pedigree, she also traces back to Faiko‘s and Idol‘s dams which we are excited for. Both Faiko and Idol were breeding males for us that have since retired that everyone loved.

Chanel was breed to VA1 Brad Pitt del Vento Margio Team at the beginning of this month. Brad Pitt was born August 21st of 2023 and has a BH, AD and IGP 1 training title. Brad Pitt won the Hellenic Show in Greece last month and placed as a VA1 which is the highest possible show rating in the German Shepherd world. Just like Chanel he has an overall strong VA pedigree. Even though Brad Pitt is still young, he already has puppies placing high in confirmation events in Germany, Greece and the United States.

We should get confirmation from Germany regarding pregnancy in the next 2-3 weeks and expect Chanel to fly to Washington at the beginning of July. If she is pregnant, she will be due on or around August 4th with puppies going home in October. We have started taking reservations for this litter so if you are interested in a Chanel X Brad Pitt puppy, please reach out to us and we are happy to place you on the waitlist for this potential exceptional pairing.

Meet our current raise and train puppies! We currently have five active raise and train puppies, some of which have already found their forever homes.

Kimchi, who will be going by Stormy, is our oldest raise and train at this time and was born to Isa and Quabs back in February. She will be joining her new family tomorrow after completing two additional months of training with us!

Lambchop and Latte are siblings from our L-litter which is a repeat of our B-litter born back in 2024. Panta and Goethe together produce some amazing pups with great working brains just like these two.

Madden is our youngest raise and train pup and was born on Saint Patrick’s day. She has always been the calmest pup out of her 7 siblings and prefers to sit back and watch. Overall, Madden has always been on more of the less driven side compared to the rest of her siblings which is what made us choose her specifically. She is still at the beginning of her training journey but we cannot wait to see her thrive.

We also have Madden‘s brother Mallen with us for some additional training for his future family. He will be going by Koda and is making amazing progress already.

All of our raise and train puppies go home once their training is where we and their future families want it to be. This usually is around 5 or 6 months old but gets decided on an individual basis. If you are interested in a raise and train puppy, please reach out in advance so we can make sure that we have the perfect fit for you and your family!

Father like son!

While Goethe was imported to the United States as an adult and we never meet him as a puppy, we have all decided that he must have looked and acted just like his sonLambchop does now.

Keeping your dog contained in the car is not only important for their safety but also yours. Dogs riding loose in a car can become projectiles in a car crash and nobody wants that. This is where car safety comes in. There are multiple ways and options to properly constrain your dog in the car for their and your safety. Where possible, a crash tested crate is one of the best ways and also allows your dogs to ride in style.

Car safety is just one of the many reasons why crate training is so important. A dog that is comfortable in their crate at home is much more likely to be good in their car crate. Because of this we start introducing cartes, car crates and car rides as early as possible to our puppies to set them and their future families up for success!

Meara is one of the pups in our M-Litter and her name is Irish for someone who is cheerful, lively, and spirited. She definitely lives up to her name and is a huge fan of the ball pit. If it were up to her she would play in it all day long!

In a short week, our M-Litter will start joining there new families and one of the little boys will get to fly to the east coast to join his! It’s been fun watching them grow and seeing their personalities come out bit for bit over the past few weeks. All 8 love to explore their surroundings and are curious and confident while doing so just like their mom. Selma taught them well and we cannot wait to see them thrive in their forever homes.
